hey i just went to the show here in minneapolis st paul last nite and the show was great. you have to appreciate both of the singers styles. while i would have liked to have heard more old stuff, the 90's songs are good to and sammy is great. i like both versions of van halen and always will. next time dave comes i'll go to his show like i did last time. so lighten up, get a grip and enjoy life!!!! be happy that v/h is not a thing of the past like so many other bands that have pssed away into oblivion....i'm not cool but that's ok.Comment

I just caught some of VH1's 100 Metal Moments this past weekend. Didn't see all of them, but I counted no less than three classic Van Halen or David Lee Roth references. Not one Van Hagar moment, that I saw. Surprised? I'm not.Comment

PLEASE TRY TO READ: David Lee Roth and Van Halen
I just joined this forum , whats up. Ive allways known about VanHalen and David Lee Roth... and knew about how they changed to Sammy Hagar... and i used to joke about David Lee Roth with my friend, and do a impression of him and Sammy Hagar getting into a fight....
I never realised how heated and deep seaded the problems were between David Lee Roth and Hagar & Van Halen or whoever.
Just yesterday i decided listen to my friends burned cd of Van Halen Volume 1 ... and yesterday i realised how much of an influence it allready has on me and how it pysced me up and how much i am inspired by David Lee Roth.... like maybe the best word for it is INTERESTED... it made me very interested in the band.
This all happened just yesterday... until then i havent really been into Van Halen really at all... but now David Lee Roth is one of my very few inspirations/influential singers... along with Scott Weiland, Freddy Mercury and Davey Havok.
I wish David Lee Roth was in Van Halen like before...
I think people need to stop bashing Sammy Hagar and Van Halen brothers and whoever else and try to be peacefull and be true VanHalen fans and be patient and ASK, PATITION and REQUEST for David Lee Roth to be back in the band... all the insults is NOT helping David Lee Roth... we all need to work together to get him back in Van Halen if its possiable.
I think David Lee Roth , Sammy Hagar and Van Halen should all sit down or hang out with each other for a few nights and straighten out their differences and just honestly be real with eachother and be come friends again.... maybe Roth and Hagar could share the stage even...
or something... come up with a great plan to work together.
WORKING TOGETHER IS KEY
Well im new to this place and new to being real interested in David Lee Roth, but thats what i think is the solutionAfireinsidemeComment

Roth has to hit high notes to get VH's attention
If Dave hits the high notes like back in the 70's & 80's then he deserves to get back into Van Halen as the front man. Am I right? Dave's voice is definitely not what it used to be. He has to find a way to get it back to have any chance to get back in the group. Eddie would have Hagar back even if he was 70 years old as long as his voice holds up. The trueth is that Dave needs to take care of his voice as good as he takes care of his body. If that happens, look out -- He would kick some ass and a bunch of people would go nuts like back in the 70's & early 80's.Comment

I paid with a smile for my tix, took the night off work, found an all night sitter, and had the best time the night I saw Dave in concert. (he opened for Bad Company) VH has a show coming up in the next week here. My friend asked if I wanted to go...lol...no Dave?? Nope, I'd rather go on to work, listen to the REAL Vh on my headset, thanks very much.Comment

Lyonrh,
it is not a matter of dave taking care of his voice. The "high notes" that you speak of were his falsetta and unfortunatley he blew his out some time around 1992. But you can hear it happening slowly but surely starting with eat em and smile. But his natural voice sounds just as good if not better than ever and he has improved his low range. and every once and a while you can hear him bounce his voice into a falsetto note for a moment or two. He still has more tone and guts in his voice than spammy anyday.Comment

Hi everybody!
I have to say I've always been a Big, Big Van Halen fan and David Lee Roth fan and what happened in 1985 was really sad, a big mistake.
It's obvious that since, nobody else could replace Dave with all his energy and vocal qualities.
The band has made a lot of very good albums, but none of the latest singers have been able to recreate the magic of the albums in the era 1978-1984, such as Dave did.
Yeah people might say "Time evolves", "There's no point in being nostalgic" blah-blah-blah...but the band Van Halen without David Lee Roth is like a pale imitation of the years before: the essential disappeared (I mean: the energy, the heat and a big sense of humor!)
Now the band seems so sad!AubinComment

First of all let me start by saying sammy is not now never has been nor will he ever be the true van halen singer! I have been a true van halen fan since the day they exploded onto the rock scene. And hearing sammy try to sing classic roth songs is sad. I say it's high time to put your money where your big mouth is and admit it sammy david is the best singer van halen ever had. Ps hows the weather in cabo?Comment
