Considering I've been told from day one that anything you put out there of a personal nature can and will be used to fucking piss you off yet these same people post personal info and expect no one will use it against them. I know Turd was outed by a pissed off former member but he posted more personal info to promote the band he was in that may or may not have fired his ass after he was outed.
That even confused me. He posted more info after he was outed. They didn't fire him after he was outed. I think I need a nap. I'm getting loopy.

I never complained about people talking about my former band, numbnuts. I posted a thread about our last CD we recorded, FFS.

But what was posted about my business, most of which was complete lies and bullshit [like me being fired from my last band] was beyond the pale.......Nobody should have their coworkers or employees stalked and harrassed [or ex bandmates for that matter] in order to settle some grudge score on a fucking message board.

Again, I'm ONLY talking about warfy and flappy. No one else stooped to their levels. Not even Black Flag.

I believe the real "wrongs" that have occurred are not in dispute... shouldn't have occurred. The board could be flushed but it doesn't erase the hard feelings.

Further fighting/blame isn't going fix anything... If it takes a few of us to step in and talk like adults long enough to either bore the hell out of the combatants or get them to see reason. Well I've stepped forward. Maybe it's time we all take a look at our feet and see if we can coax one of them forward..??

We got to find a way to end this. I chose to discuss it here... I'm reaching mostly the same audience at either site anyways here.

That is a horse of a different color. A rock band, while being a business venture, requires the establishing of images of it's members for a fan base to be built. Yet it still initiates the trapdoors of exploitation. One suddenly (and at times, involuntarily) becomes a "public" figure in order to promote one's music. Hell, everyone is a critic these days, thanks in no small part to electronic media.

So yeah, you could argue that people that exploit themselves can not complain about being exploited by others. It still does not make the argument, the idea or it's execution fair or even remotely moral.

It's about a concept commonly referred to as "branding." You need to attach a face or idea to a bit of music, thanks to the insipid invention of MTV and it's sordid aftermath. So an artist surrenders a great portion of his/her dignity in exchange for public relations endeavors. It is the price of fame, or more than likely, infamy.

It still ain't fucking right, yet artists have been getting the short end of the stick since the first cave dweller drew a picture of a buffalo on a wall with a charred stick. And you can bet his wife bitched at him for doing so.

Yeah, there are a handful of people that can't seem to let things go and move on. No matter how many times they agree to it. But realistically, I only see 1 or 2 of them drunk off their asses every night stirring shit up and egging others into responding. What do you see going on?

I've talked a lot of people into ignoring it for as long as they can, hoping the drama will die off, but it keeps coming back. As much as I abhor banning, I think the inevitable conclusion is going to be banning. It's a shame. I actually like everyone involved, but this whole thing has brought out the absolute worst in people.

I see that sometimes... I also see a fairly consistent core group rotating drunken or just plain cantankerous days or nights stirring things up. Some Fan's members, some Army, some double agents... even occasionally just Army regulars going at it without the usual Fans suspects involved.

The most bizarre aspect is those who never really had a dog in the hunt... doing a deep dive right up to the front of the battle lines. I can only assume they were in need of a severe attention whoring experience at that moment.

Bottom line... I'm not overly optimistic we can talk our way into ending all this. But it's worth another try...

Odds are it will boil down to an administrative headache of thread closures, time outs and potential permanent bans. That's a real pisser because in involves several of us working as administrators rather than playing here or there like we'd prefer to do.

I didn't say you complained about anyone talking about your band. You posting stuff about your band left an open road to you and the bar you may or may not really own. You posted a picture on Facebook standing in front of a sign with the name of the bar on it. If someone didn't know your info before you handed it to them on a silver platter.
You also might consider you take things to a level that most people don't. You don't give a shit if you piss them off and some people go after you any way they can just to get even. You don't fight fair with your thread dumping and renaming threads so why should they play fair with you? You can't do that now but you would if you could.

I'm just trying to say that some folks are exaggerating about the level of threatening they actually percieve. Most of these peeps are truly anonymous as far as their real names or what they do for a living.

Tell that to the girl that was literally up all night irregardless of the fact that she no longer posts here but yet is still being stalked from site-to-site and still gets her name dropped by some jealous stalker-type. Maybe people thought John Hinckly Jr. was just a funny fuckup too...
