    After Van Halen?

After Dave left VH and the atrocity known as Van Hagar emerged I needed to find a band with the same intensity and power that Van Halen generated. 5150 certainly didn't do it. For me it was Metallica! I bought Ride the Lightning shortly after it came out mostly because of the cover and the name "Metallica" just sounded cool. I heard "fight fire with fire" and was blown away!! I had never heard a faster or harder song than that in 1985! It just got better as I played the rest of the album. I sought out "Kill em All". My god, this band is it! Then "Master of Puppets" comes out...forget it! Metallica is my favorite band!

My first Metallica show was on the Puppets tour in Syracuse. They opened for Ozzy and blew him off the stage!! I have since seen Metallica 20 times.

After Classic Van Halen and David Lee Roth....Metallica!!

I became a "metal head" after that...Anthrax, Slayer, S.O.D., Megadeth etc...always longing for that Van Halen Reunion.

So, Army, what band did YOU turn too after VH 85??

Extreme with Nuno Bettencourt; nuno is a lot more interesting guitar player than Kirk Hammett

That is the gayest pic of Nuno I have ever seen.

After CVH... Hmm. I would have to say Journey (Perry is da man!!) Also Styx to a certain degree. Not forgetting Metallica, Ulrich is the best, most technically adapt drummer in the world!

Hey Carm, good to see you around bro'
Yes man 166 shows following the Dead in 10 years, I just started going to those shows in hopes of meeting some loose hippy biatches but between the shrooms, acid and kind bud I really got hooked.

Get that tattoo my man, it's an awesome design, shit I used to have 2 tour shirts with the Lion VH and some phuker stole them from me.

that pic is a random choice dude; it's about his guitar playing and NOT the way he looks

Closest thing for me was also Metallica. World domination on their own terms. Same as Vintage VH. Saw them for the first time in Eau Claire, WI, with Cliff.

Still was more of a 'hairband' guy, especially: Motley Crue, Bullet Boys, Skid Row.

Also some Stevie Ray Vaughn, ZZ Top and Kenny Wayne Shepherd.

METALLICA is fucking awesome. Did you see the film SOME KIND OF MONSTER yet? If you haven't, go pick it up right now, bro. It's amazing. VAN HALEN would never let cameras get anywhere near this close to them...

Was there really any good muzik after 1984, (not including Roth solo and Metallica) I can't think of one band that really turned my crank the way the Mighty VH did.
