Does anyone remember the old 80's movie "The Wild Life" starring Chris Penn (back when he was skinny), Eric Stoltz, and Leah Thompson? It came out in 85 - it was kind of like a spin off of "Fast Times @ Ridgemont High" - but a little darker. Had the catch phrase: "It's casual".
Ed Van Halen composed the score for that movie. I've been able to find one track "Donut City" - but have had no luck finding any others, or the original soundtrack for that matter. I've also had no luck finding the DVD or VHS and assume they are all out of print.
I've seen the movie a million times (had an old VHS copy that I taped when the movie first came out ) If you listen closely - you can hear that Ed played riffs that were later used in Van Hagar tunes. The piano riff to right now is in there, as well as the riff from AFU. (WAY TO BE A MUSICIAN ED, JUST KEEP RECYCLING)
The original versions differ slightly from what was released with Sam - but they sound cool. Kinda like vintage Ed when he still had some attitude; some game.
If anyone has any clue of how to purchase any of these please let me know. I've tried ebay and amazon and had no luck.
Thanks.
