    Everyone Please Read

Who want's to go see Van Hagar with me and heckle the band? :D
Before I always said I always liked Van Halen with David Lee Roth. Now I have to say I like Van Halen with David Lee Roth & Michael Anthony. It's just too much!

I don't think anyone here "want's" to waste time on that.

I certainly won't spend my money to heckle a band I don't care for...once they've got what they want (your MONEY), they could give less than a phuck about your opinion!

Exactly, they make out the same whether you paid to be negative or paid because for some unknown reason you actually enjoy that shit.

I was briefly considering going ONLY, and I repeat ONLY because I never got to see Ed live and I would be going just for him, but ultimately I just know that the badness of Slapnuts will prevent me from enjoying even that.

Of course you will. After all, you did say you were into Van Hagar before you ever heard of DAVID LEE ROTH.

Hey, I can't help my age.

And I wasn't exactly truthful; I used to listen to Van Halen when I was under 5. Then DLR left and I didn't hear them again until "Right Now" came out. My favorite song when I was really young was Ain't Talkin' Bout Love; first song I could sing along to (hey hey hey). My parents would put headphones on my ... um ... dwelling before I was born and play VH for me, as well.

I wanted to learn to play guitar, so my Dad made me go see EVH play live. I was so awestruck, so I started to like Van Hagar. I had no frame of reference to compare it to (other than the music of the time, when rap was starting to get a lot more play).

Anyway, after I got enough money to start buying more of the catalog, I learned who DLR was and which set of songs I liked more.

But since I never experienced VH with DLR first, and never experienced the years of feuding, my opinion never soured, and so I can enjoy both for what they are.

              Therefore, I'll go.

I'd go if I could get heckled for being there. It'd be a logistical nightmare for the heckler, but not impossible. The heckler would have to keep moving first and foremost. While the mouthbreathing depraved nature of the van hagar faithful is without a doubt comedic and equally sad,it should not be taken lightly.Wardrobe is another consideration,"big johnson" tees,birkenstocks,day-glo cell phones, fannie packs, etc.Fully prepared,a potty mouthed anti-van hagar heckler could make an otherwise snoozefest an affair to remember.....(perfectly timed right before when it's love) "GINO VANELLI YOU FAT MOTHERFUCKER"

I'm going, but not for the cheese. I'm going for the guitar, the bass & to see if 'the drummer' can still hold his own with his slipped disc.
"Honey, my shirt got itself torn up. My shirt tore itself on that stripper's hand, and I need it to be sewed up for the show."

                    "Fuck you, Fluffy."
"No, no, you're going to upset Fluffy."
"I ain't saying hello to no stuffed bear."
"You know, now that I think about it, it's going to take a little longer to sew up that shirt than I was thinking."
                    "Hi Fluffy, how you been?"
"Now that I'm thinking of it even more, it's going to take half the time, Double D, Diamond Dave! Would you hold Fluffy?"
                    "N--- yeah."

That's no excuse, you're older than me!

Yeah I was exposed to Van Hagar before Van HALEN and I used to think a few years ago that Van Hagar was good and that it could actually match up to the real Van HALEN...and then I saw the light. When I realized what Van HALEN was all about and how Van Hagar pretty much flew in the face of it, it actually sickened me. Nowadays I like to pretend that April 1, 1985-present never existed.

I just don't have that level of conviction.

                            Van Hagar?!?!

Allright, for all of you losers out there... Van Halen (with Hagar) will always be the best. There is, and there never was a "Van Hagar" only a Van Halen featuring Sammy. Remember, Dave only suggested the name, its not his, therefore it would never change no matter who sings. Which preferably in a perfect world would be Sam. Don't get me wrong, Dave is a great performer, and showman; but come on... When it comes to singing he don't come close to the Red Rocker. I grew up a Sammy Fan before I ever even knew who Van Halen was. I loved it, but it didn't matter. I insisted on listening to VH for the first time starting only with the 1st album and going through them in order. I noticed flaws in both eras. With Dave they were a balls to the wall party band. And with Sammy it was all about the music.

Let me point out that they had a lot more hits with Sammy.
So in my mind, I don't hate DLR, Im a VH Fan no-matter who sings (as long as its not Cherone) But I do have a special liking for Sammy. And its a great thing that they are doing.

                            Rock on, and Peace out.
