    Roth Purist

I've seen classic Van Halen live one time in 1984.
Actually January 21, 1984 to be exact in Jacksonville, FL

I've never spent a penny on Hagar my whole life.
Never bought the Van Hagar albums.
Never even took a sip of the cabo, and even though my friend offered to buy me one at the Sam & Dave tour.

I hear Van Hagar on the radio.... I change the station.
I see Sammy Hagar has a new video.... I turn off the television.

Now as far as being a DLR fan, I've bought every album... I have the tattoos... I've even dressed up as DLR for karaoke numerous times... on yeah and dressed as DLR for halloween too.... with the EEAS makeup and jungle wear... spent most of my life preaching the word of Dave.... watching him get older... listening to the critics bash him... saying his voice is gone... saying his hair is gone... saying basically he is a fucking washed up has-been.

    But I still defend him!

    I think it's called loyality.

It's like when I wore my NEW JETS HAT around in 1995.... when they were 1-15...

Sorta like when I rushed out to buy YFLM... and the record store manager laughed when I bought it.

Basically what i'm saying is this...

If you spent even a single penny on hagar... or supported any of the tours.... past or present... you are not a Roth Purist.

You are not one of the loyal ELITE.

Alot of us have suffered for over twenty years... waiting for the ressurection of Van Halen to happen... and if you ain't one of the ROTH PURISTS.... I refuse to be associated with you.

If you supported anything Van Hagar, past or present.... YOU ARE NOT A REAL FAN!!!!

      Well let me rephrase that...

Some of you might have bought 5150, hoping it would be a Van Halen record... maybe your allowed one mistake... but that's it...

I don't that you could label yourself as a real classic Van Halen purist... if you own a Van Hagar album... or still listen to them sporatically.... pretending your a BIG MACHO dlr fan on the internet!

I'm a mod, and could a shit less about my ranking or anything else.

If your a loyal DLR fan... your fucking gold in my book....

If you like Hagar... you are shit...

          Plain and simple!

Did that mistake and I admit it, I didn’t take it with me when I moved in with my girlfriend (now wife) in 1990, other that that I’m as fucking pure as China White.

Classic six pac, Vinyl and Cd
All solo albums (had to order DLR Band & Diamnd Dave from the states)
Went to Monsters of Rock 1984 at Råsunda football stadium age 14
Saw David Lee Roth Live in Karlskoga 91

all hail roth...... and warf for putting it better than i could.....

my only hagar mistake was renting 5150 outa the library when i first got into roth (y.f.l.m and eat em n smile were the first)and then i heard that he was the singer in the eighties band van halen..... so i went to the local library and hired the only album they had '5150'i was shocked and dismayed by his lack of talent on 5150..but then i read the line up..... 'HAGAR who the fuck is hagar?' i cried.... i was relieved that the abominations on 5150 wernt due to roth..... a bit o research and i had the six pack crazy from the heat and just like paradise.... my first gig... 94... he rocked like i hoped.... ive been mocked by non beleivers but hey hes still the best.

                yes, yes, YES!

I can see buying 5150 as a mistake, but anything after that, fuck no.
Served hot, right from the rhythm kitchen.

Started with Dave from the beginning and never strayed.

He's the reason I became a Rock-N-Roll fan in the first place.
CVH, of course is my favorite band of alltime.
Yankee Rose and the rest of Dave's solo stuff still get's heavy rotation in my CD player when I go running.

                  DLR is the Frontman Extraordinaire.

                  And don't anyone forget it.
Without DLR in the lineup, Van Halen is merely Rat Salade...

i'm a purist to the extreme, sometimes my friends even bug me about it!

                      but I don't give a flying fuck!

i play my roth all the time and that's the way it's gonna be...

of course i like others things in music... but if i would be sent on an island and have to bring only 1 artist discography it would be Roth!

I have a lot of stuff besides those 6 albums...

and it will last a life time before I get tired of it!

to me there is only Roth that matters the sisters, mickey mullet, I don't give a shit they lost their edge

now it's dlr time and they should put out a live album!

brian ray toshi james and the mighty David lee Roth!

                      that's it that's all!

I say fuck the sisters. it's been too long now!

                      let's move on

I dunno WARF maybe you need to broaden the net just slightly...

Hagar has got money out of me twice.

I bought 5150 when it came out and I paid for front row tickets at the Dave and Sam tour. I left during Hagar's set pushing my way past thousands of bemused people.

I've since lost my 5150 album which I quickly went off and have travelled by plane abroad twice in the last few years to see Roth - maybe spent about $3000 on that.

My non rock fan pal turned to me and said innocently in a club a couple of weeks ago "There you go - Van Halen your fave band!" when the DJ put on "Why can't this be love".

I had to be pulled off him with my hands around his throat.

I cuntsider myself a Roth purist.

                          Cheers!

Actually that's a good point with the Sam & Dave tour.

I guess I did give Sammy a few of my bucks.

I didn't think about it... I was too hyped up for to see DLR live.

Anyways, we all know where you stand with DLR sesh.

I agree that we must eradicate Pro-Poodle tendencies with extreme
