i bought the van hagar albums but not for sammy i bought them for Ed, Al and Mike. i also bought bov1 for the new roth tunes so some money ended up going to hagar. I always looked at van hagar as 3/4 of the greatest band that ever existed and i always wanted to keep up to date on what 3/4 were up to in terms of sound and style etc etc and once in awhile they would surprise me with a tune ie good enough, humans being or poundcake were i could say not bad not bad at all but it still aint CVH!!!!!

I'd like to apply to be a Born-Again Roth Purist. I have sinned more than I'd like to admit but have spent the past few years repenting.

Actually January 21, 1984 to be exact in Jacksonville, FL

I've never spent a penny on Hagar my whole life.
Never bought the Van Hagar albums.
Never even took a sip of the cabo, and even though my friend offered to buy me one at the Sam & Dave tour.

I hear Van Hagar on the radio.... I change the station.
I see Sammy Hagar has a new video.... I turn off the television.

Now as far as being a DLR fan, I've bought every album... I have the tattoos... I've even dressed up as DLR for karaoke numerous times... on yeah and dressed as DLR for halloween too.... with the EEAS makeup and jungle wear... spent most of my life preaching the word of Dave.... watching him get older... listening to the critics bash him... saying his voice is gone... saying his hair is gone... saying basically he is a fucking washed up has-been.

              But I still defend him!

              I think it's called loyality.

It's like when I wore my NEW JETS HAT around in 1995.... when they were 1-15...

Sorta like when I rushed out to buy YFLM... and the record store manager laughed when I bought it.

Basically what i'm saying is this...

If you spent even a single penny on hagar... or supported any of the tours.... past or present... you are not a Roth Purist.

You are not one of the loyal ELITE.

Alot of us have suffered for over twenty years... waiting for the ressurection of Van Halen to happen... and if you ain't one of the ROTH PURISTS.... I refuse to be associated with you.

If you supported anything Van Hagar, past or present.... YOU ARE NOT A REAL FAN!!!!
I know some big Dave fans who were ONCE into Van Hagar..........HOWEVER I'm in the same category as WARF. I've never put one dime into the Van Hagar machine...........NEVER HAVE NEVER WILL BITCHES!!!!!!!!! DAVE OR THE GRAVE..........

The only thing close to buying van hagar was the twister soundtrack. Also i have finally got all of the classic van halen albums and started my david lee roth collection. It was a very happy sunday for me.

Yes, but the WHAM/GEORGE MICHEALS franchise? Well, let's just say the next WHAM reunion album might be named LUMBERGH'S REACH AROUND!

I grew up with classic Van Halen during my late teens. I was around at the time and was gutted when Dave left. I personally have no problem with Sammy and Van Hagar. I like the stuff. I see it as a different band with a totally different sound. I NEVER slag Dave off and at other sites fight his corner.

But I'll be damned if because I like other stuff makes me less of a Dave fan... BOLLOCKS!! I know I'd be as welcome at a Dave gig as much as anyone else on this board.

good god, I could'nt agree more, Roth was the H in VH whether Eddie likes it or not. Hagar was great with Ronnie Montrose, he should have stuck with a good thing. Van Halen is Dave's turf, no one elses. I just don't get new VH fans. Do they know what great music is??? God!! If I sat through a van hagar album I'd probably kill people..

you mentioned the radio, too funny!!!, I've done the same thing by changing the radio station. Van Hagar depresses the hell out of me. It's like someone robbed a part of my soul when that crap comes on the radio...

CVH that's all there is to me, I can actually smile when I hear CVH, it's just part of me in some way...
In my lifetime I'd like to see the real Van Halen again.

Roth n Eddie made Van Halen the great entitty that it was......... Hagar and Eddie made a band that was about love and power ballads a watered down version of the original band with out the style energy or devotion to the fans
