I remember reading an article on Dave around '82. On the subject of
their new found wealth and how they're spending it . Roth says the other guys we buying Rolex's,Lamboughini's and homes while he rents apartments on each coast and basically lives out of a suitcase most of the year .
    Smart guy !
Stash the cash and spend it later .

wasn't Einstein rumored to have 10 of the same set of clothes? that way, you know what you're gonna wear, and it's one less thing to think about.

Here's a quick "for instance". I've posted this before but I'll repeat.

I'm close friends with the original drummer from the band BOSTON. He played on two albums and two tours. That was in the mid/late 70's. Since then he's done nothing with the band and has basically retired since then. He's probably not a multi millionaire but I'm sure he's still got close to a mill in the bank. He lives in a very high end area, has no problem going out golfing anytime I'm ready to him 'em and has expressed many times that the internet and illegal downloading has killed most of his royalties. And remember, he didn't write 1/2 of each of those tunes like Dave did.

So Dave is SET...no question. He was on Stern last week and Stern asked the same question. Dave's remark was that it's something he's always wanted to do. It'll put him in the spot light in front of potentially millions instead of the 15-20,000 he used to be in front of with VH.

So all is good in Dave land.

Plus, and no offense to anyone, he's Jewish. I'm sure he's protected his money well!

Actually, DAVE drew a city salary.

              I concur...

I've read more than one interview with DAVE or the people around him. He had a reputaiton for being frugal. I know he only had a couple of cars by '84 (since he really didn't drive much while on tour), this came up in a discussion of the subject matter for the song "PANAMA." (As in was it a girl or a car he was singing about?) I think the classic auto in the video was his as well...

i don't think that, maybe he's just so tired of the spotlight, i mean maybe he just wants to be a normal , person, or he has more important things to spend his money....

I thought Dave was kind of a minimalist, only buys what he needs and travels a lot.

Dave could be a flat out broke bum in the street but that wouldn't change how his talent over the years affected me. I don't care what Dave is worth, it's what he did on the stage, in interviews, and on recordings that blew me away.

if david lee roth makes more touring than the 4 million for the radio gig he most either demand a massive sum of money for each show or he played a few hundred shows we don't know about. what a load of shit! what kind of prices are they charging for hotdogs at these damn festivals anyway?

i know that when the backers of the 1995 vegas show pulled their money, he put in a ton of his own and god burned when the show closed.

im willing to bet he lost money on no holds...wasnt that like 600grand to make?

but im sure he made a lot of money on the '02 tour so i dont know what all the debate is about

That's a great picture! He's still got the big hair...just not that big.

                              Where'd you get that from?
