Yeah there is sort of an elite social scene that parties all over the world year round sometimes in St. tropez, Vegas St. Barts, Aspen Hamptons etc. Iam talking the mega rich but I can't name names. If you catch me at an APshow and buy me a shot or two maybe I tell ya some great stories. Dave's part of this scene. I have family in this scene so I have access to it. JB has been a family friend since he was a little kid Dave played at his wedding in South Beach I didn't go because I was on a cruise to the caribbean but I was with my uncle the day he bought JB's gift. Dave strikes me as the type of person who likes to work. I think Dave really wants this radio gig to work and I don't think CBS neccessarily wants to can him. CBS pulled rank on Dave and pulled him back to a temporary basic format and then they will slowly rebuild the show into something that works better. Dave was seeming lost and pulling it back to a basic format gives Dave the opportunity to hone some basic radio skills. I think he's doing fine.

CBS doesn't want to fire a guy they just hired. Who would they hire that would do any better? Dave actually did a little better ratings wise than some of the other Stern replacements. No, CBS wants Dave to succeed because they succeed if Dave succeeds.

Any major market is corporate these days. Dave understands that and that is why he is going "yes sir!". Hey, you can stick it to the man if you want to get fired. Dave wants the gig. Maybe in time, he will be a huge radio personality as well.

I think when Michael Anthony said in that recent interview that Dave is broke he is coming from a different perspective than the average person. These folks in the entertainment industry burn cash fast. I remember when MC Hammer said he filed for bankruptcy, he was still making six figures a year......for him that was broke.....for us it's not. Dave probably has expensive habits.

So the more notes you can sing the better you are? So does that mean the guy from Steelheart is a better singer than Hagar? Or how 'bout the guy who sang for Kingdom Come? I prefer singers with something you're not familiar with.....creativity.

Roth actually sued the VH brothers for unpaid royalties.. This was a few years ago.. Roth had to switch publishing companies - Separate His work from the VH brothers - Mike gets nothing in the deal.. Sammy had to do this as well.. Except he did it when Balance came out - This was over the Live album they put out, as you might know 2 of Sam's solo songs were on the album and the money he was owed was deposited into the VH Publishing Company.. Sam was owed over $100 grand.. So he decided to separate the money.. Dave did it during 1984.. A very smart move..

Dave has to have a good accountant, he talks about that in his book.. He also has to have a good lawyer.. Or Law Firm representing him.. He always has a lawsuit to contend with..

Van Halen's old manager, and even EVH didn't want to push the older VH material. They could go out and market it, sell it to commercials, lend it to soundtracks, Release Re-Masters with Extra Tracks.. Boxsets.. Re-Package them with Special Editions, do the DVD releases.. (Look at Motley Crue) But they won't.. WON'T.. Why? I think it's a deep arguement between Ed and Dave.. Ed doesn't want Dave to have anything out of the deal.. I think he hates Dave that much.. Warner does have some power here, but even they aren't pushing anything.. They even dropped Ed from the label..

Mikey says DLR was hurting on money in 96.. And it does cost a bit of money to live a certain lifestyle.. An example - Nikki Sixx was quoted as saying it costs him thousands a month to keep his house operating.. (Electric bills etc. - Says he has a heated pool, alarm systems etc. etc.) And if you remember Dave in 94 or 95, he was playing waterparks and State Fairs.. And later Vegas.. State Fairs can't afford to pay much..

Dave is going to come out of this CBS arrangement fairly wealthy.. He'll atleast pocket $1.5 million out of the $4 he's going for. Half will go to taxes, the rest will go to the lawfirm for setting the deal up.. ANd Dave might have to share something with a manager if he has one..
