Don't feel bad. We can't even get him to come to the Northern part of California, the state where it all started for him...

    ...C'mon Dave, gimme a break!

Depending on which company you work for.... a couple of those silicon valley companies probably have enough money to hire Dave for a private party.

I guess tickets will be available at the door. OR free if you bring in an empty Coke can. In between sets ol' Dave will be running the Tilt-a-Whirl. I wonder if he'll stop in the middle of a song and yell at someone and say "I'm goona fuck you girlfriend after the show" sooooooo spontaneous. Oh Dave you are so cool. Watch him twirl his plastic sword, or skip around with his gay little ribbon. Come on D.Ro, there's dozens of people here tonight. Order a couple of pizzas for the "crowd".

Well, unfortunately my companies HQ is in Vancouver. We are just one of many data centers, so it's not gonna happen.

Now, if only I worked at Google...:D

Well, thewre was an article in the Nashville paper this morning in their little "people, places and things" column:

                  Friday, 06/16/06
David Lee Roth and Fourth of July: Why can't this be love?

                  By BRAD SCHMITT

You may recall that David Lee Roth said on late-late-night TV guy Conan O'Brien's program that he was going to come here July 4 and play the Riverfront show.

                  That ain't gonna happen.

Seems the Nashville Convention & Visitors Bureau had booked the show before the former Van Halen frontman's late-night declaration. On the bill: Ronnie Milsap, Josh Turner, Danielle Peck and the Nashville Symphony. And that lineup's not going to change.

"It just didn't work out," Roth publicist Elaine Schock said Thursday. "It's too crowded a bill, for one."

Boo! This is a giant bummer! You've gotta know that David Lee Roth would add his own fireworks to such a nice, safe lineup.

Dare I say that even Mayor Bill Purcell — who himself appeared in Rolling Stone magazine in a picture with another Van, Van Morrison — was looking forward to Mr. Roth's performance July 4.

After all, David told Conan he was "the mayor of Nashville."

The actual mayor was a bit dubious.

"To be the mayor of Music City, being in Rolling Stone is helpful, but it's not sufficient," the real mayor said at the time.

Perhaps David will be able to increase his mayoral cred later this year. No, he won't make the Fourth of July bash, but his publicist says he indeed plans to make a Music City stop sometime soon.

There was good and bad with that article:

                  1. So he will be coming to Gnashville finally. WOOHOO!

                  2. I am going to write an email to this guy Brad, and tell him to apologize for including the title of a van hagar song in an article about David Lee Roth.

Bad research in that article. The Dave quotes were from the Late Late Show appearance with Craig Ferguson. Dave was never on Conan's show.

As far as the author of that article is concerned, one Late show is as good as another.

I did hear back from him just now.

He had one word to say.

                      "Thanks".

I did not ream him too badly as most of the article was pretty positive.
