The big difference between Michael Anthony and Sammy Hagar is Mike is an original member of that band and Sammy was nothing more than a scab.

I love how Sammy always tries to make it seem like it all revolves around him.

Yup, I remember the FIRST TIME it really hit home was back in the early 90's when Van Hagar played The Whiskey for an "Aniversary" gig. Here's the band "reminscing" about the "old days" and The Round Rocker chimes in like he was actually fucking there along with them!!! BULLSHIT cos he was probably opening for the band who opened for fucking "KANSAS" or something whilst Halen was The Pasadena's People's Band kicking ass on the strip.

I STILL love Dave's HOF "speech" that he'd say...

"I'd look over at Edward and say YOU WERE THERE!!! I'd look over to the drummer and say YOU WERE THERE!!!" ETC and we all got/get Dave's point.

MA's voice was the first thing I missed on the EEAS record. Guitar? Check. Songwriting? Check. Bass? Check. Drums? Check. Background vocals? WTF! Where the hell are the background vocals?!?

Neither MA nor Sam should ever tour under the name Van Halen. I'm glad he signed away those rights. I think the whole music world learned from two Ratts touring at the same time.

It's nice that Hagar gives Mikey some time in the spotlight. Almost makes me like the guy.

As far as Ed? Shit, I hope the guy doesn't end up offing himself. I do think Dave has agitated some open discussion about him with Sam, MA and the media.

The slam dunk would be brother Alex announcing that he's checked his brother into some sort of treatment. Alex publicly "admitting" that maybe Ed isn't 100% might just let others off the hook too.

What an excellent soap opera Van Halen has become! Best band on the planet. Now, best rivalry/drama on teh planet. Grab some popcorn and enjoy the show!

He was in there a few years ago as far as I could tell from Val's stories etc.....mostly for booze I guess.

he doesn't give bass player time in the spotlight...he uses him to sell tickets...he remembered that he got the biggest cheers from the crowd on the sam/dave tour when bass player entered the stage...and that's the one and only reason he is on this tour...
