Originally posted by Vinnie Velvet I know. Its disapointing Mike is not involved.
I don't wanna get into the Sam argument again -- but Mike has made his choice and now he has to deal with it.
Besides, its only 40 dates at this point.
And summer is still awhile so....
Yeah, but the thing is, once Wolfie is in, he's never going to be "thrown out". He is Ed's son.
Maybe Alex can ask his cat to play bongos and have all his ex-wives sing back-up vocals.

This tour will either bring them out of the woodwork in defiance or have them applauding as if Dave being back is what they always wanted. Fucking pinheads.

Originally posted by Rikk Yeah, but if another original member can be excluded because of Ed's super-inflated ego and complete lack of respect to the band's legacy, how have things really changed?
It was easy as shit to avoid the 2004 "reunion" tour...this is going to be a little harder to avoid...but I still think it's bullshit that Mikey isn't there...
All this time I wait, and Ed still finds a way to alter The Dream....
Goddammit! Let your son start his own fucking band!!!Mail Mike the setlist, give him a start time and dont talk to him,for fuck sakes!!!
Originally posted by Vinnie Velvet Well, we haven't seen the boy play -- and maybe Dave (well most likely) has.
Dave has never had a band backing him that didn't have the necessary chops in every department (guitar, bass, drums, vocals, etc.)
I trust Dave on this one.
Exactly. I'm putting my trust with Dave.
I still say we all go to the first concert for starters. I'm not so worried about whether Wolfie can hang with 40 tour dates, as I am worried whether Dad and Dave can stand each other for 40 gigs ??
Originally posted by Guitar Shark If Mike's not part of this "reunion," you can count me out.
I hear ya brother...
Before I always said I always liked Van Halen with David Lee Roth. Now I have to say I like Van Halen with David Lee Roth & Michael Anthony. It's just too much!
Originally posted by DavidLeeNatra I still can't believe that dave is touring with wolfie...
Me neither....fucking sellout....

Fuck, I don't care about the Mike shite, Dave and Ed wrote those tunes. I am so there, and yeah yeah, I know it's not a "real 100%" reunion, but this to me is more real than anything since 1985, exculding 1996.
I really wish Sam would stop with the "omnicient" speak. I wish the media wouldn't even ask him for his take on anything that he's not directly involved in.
But damn, have any of you thought about what the ticket prices to this show is going to be like? That's got me a little bummed because my son just chose which college he wants to attend next year and we're looking at around $30,000.....

Hell, I have seen Dave solo about 5 times since 2001 alone, so why the hell wouldn't I go see Dave with Ed and Alex?
If Dave thinks the kid can play, then fine, whatever, I am there.
The first show might be a good idea, but these days there is SO MUCH MONEY involved in these tours, that you really have to finish the whole thing out.
Sources tell Billboard.com a contract could be signed as soon as today for Live Nation to produce a 40-date amphitheatre tour by Van Halen this summer, with original frontman David Lee Roth back in the fold for the first time in more than 20 years.
And what sources would they be ?
Its everything we have been discussing recently. Nothing new
except for the fact it could be a done deal very shortly.
