I've heard Dave, Sammy and Mike will be there, no sisters! That's pretty fucking sad! Their damn name is on the band, and they can't have the decency to show up and be honored! I agree that Dave and Sammy will handle it with class. Despite what happened on their tour, they do respect what VH means to fans and the history of music, and they'll do it right. And without a doubt DLR is the greatest frontman in music history. No one can touch Diamond!!!

Maybe Wolfgang can accept the award for his Dad
      with Dave.

Fuck Sammy, him and Gary Cherone are not entitled
      to even be there.

It all sounds like a plan to me to gain media attention . If the tour happens that's great , if Ed & Al show up at the RRHOF thats great , but if it all goes wrong , I just hope that Dave will do some shows this summer.

Sam will do his "everyman" "damn what a nice, down to earth guy" routine, which we all know is major fucking BS....he need's to just stand there off to the side of the stage, staring down at the floor.....

The point...much like the one on the top of your head...is that neither Spam or Ga(r)y have been in the band 25 years.......

Simple...they don't DESERVE to be there.....

if there was only Van Hagar....would they be going in the Hall Of Fame?!?

the fact is...if the RORHF didn't think sammy contributed to the success of VH, then they wouldn't have made him part of the VH induction. why do you think GS wasn't part of the ticket? he didn't contribute in a significant way (e.g., record sales). too many fucking heads in the sand here. for fucks sake, he was with the band 13 years. even if i don't care for the stuff he produced w/VH during that time, i won't deny him his just rewards. he still gets put on the ticket because he made significant contributions:

During Hagar's tenure, the band established a musical formula that proved commercially successful in the United States. All four studio albums produced during this period reached #1 on the Billboard pop music charts. Also during this time, 17 singles breached the top 12 of the mainstream rock tracks chart. In addition, Van Halen was nominated for two Grammy Awards, winning the 1991 Best Hard Rock Performance with Vocal award for the album For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge.

Van Halen continued to enjoy tremendous popular success throughout the mid-90's, while many other trends and bands fell from favor, overtaken by anti-establishment

So, you're telling me that Van HAGAR could get in on their own merits?? BHWAHAHAHAH!!!!

MC Hammer sold a lot of albums in 1990. Hey, even New Kids on the Block did.

Face it SHEEP, Van Hagar was a product of its TIME, while Van HALEN is timeless.

With each Van Hagar album, they sold less. They were NOT influential or made any IMPACT to the world of pop culture and music.

                        While Van HALEN did.

                        BIG DIFFERENCE.

Let's put it this way. Could they have got in without him? Ed and Alex sittin' at home on their thumbs since 1985 not producing a damn thing? Not on your fucking life.

You push all this shit like I'm a huge Hagar lover. I like his early solo stuff, but not a fan of his VH period music. That said though, I won't look at his record in terms of commercial success with VH and say it didn't mean shit. The stats prove otherwise.

I see Dave being gracious to every other member who shows up but also getting his say...he'll probably recall the 70's years playing the Sunset Strip clubs and then going big-time...
Whatever he says will be the most memorable fo' sure!!!

Yes, its only Dave-era stuff that gets constant airtime, and the 2004 "Reunion" tour was a miserable failure.

The sales prove that Sam was NOWHERE NEAR as popular as Dave. It proves that people don't like Hagar as much. Of course 5150 sold well, it was the follow up to 1984, the fact that the album sales went passed the million mark could be put down to the fact that Hagar's fanbase (2 words which don't look right together) were buying the albums, as well as people who wanted to hear Eddie play guitar. There were about 500,000 of the latter, cos they bought VHIII as well.

SO, GET IN THE FOOKIN' PEN.
