I think the Led Zeppelin induction took place in '95. I'm almost sure of it because that is when I started listening to them and I had just got the box set for Christmas my senior year ('95). I remember watching Aerosmith play with them. It was a good jam.
Also, as far as Eddie if he feels he needs to get clean then fine, but this is the worst possible timing imaginable. I don't even think substances are the root of his problems. He is just plain a bit mental now. Rehab can't help that. I have a feeling once (or if) he gets sober Dave will be gone. Eddie is a prick when he is sober. When he got clean in '95 he turned into a complete controlling asshole. You could hear it in the interviews and within a year Hagar was gone becaue of his bullshit. Dave and a sober Eddie are two things that will never be stage at the same time. Dave won't put up with a dictator like that. Also, if Balance is any indication sobriety doesn't do a lot for his creativeness. What I think the best possible resolution to this whole thing would be is: Reunite for the RRHOF play a smokin' 1 hour set and that will be their swansong. Retire at the HOF with Roth at the helm to lead them into the sunset. Then Ed can go join a mission for all I care.Comment

well lets all hope this works out for ed. he needs it. who knows what his son thought watching his dad come in all beat from drinking. like i have said maybe ed will clear his head n get mike back in this. and fuck the hall!!!! how dare they not let roth play!!! the inductee should be able to do w/e the fuck they want!!! but just mkae sure its okay with the sisters because they could use it against dave. so maybe its for the betterComment

Personally, I think in all seriousness, Dave has matured (he's shown great restraint through all of this) and Eddie will hopefully come out of this more mature and will recognize Dave as an ally rather than an adversary.I like to pay close attention to the things I'll forget later...Comment

I wish DAVE would just punch that ungrateful cocksuckers lights out..........for once and for all......Comment

Firstly, I'd like to say that I truly hope Edward follows through with the treatment.
Of note, there has been no mention as to what rehab he will be undertaking. Is it booze? Is it Meth? Does it matter?
What was the catalyst for this?
Perhaps it was the pressure of
1) The R&RHOF and all related BS that surrounds what has been going on with who will show, who will perform, who will speak, etc.
2) The pressure of the upcoming tour such as Dave being back, Wolfie replacing Mike, etc.
3) Val breaking balls about bringing the kid on the road with him.
Who knows. I hope he gets the help he is seeking and truly cleans up.Comment

Anger, passion, maddening heartbreak... this has all the makings of another sad chapter in the long drawn out saga that is VH/DLR...
At least all the pencil dick faggots in the mainstream press will have to stop blaming Dave for all the band's problems once and for all.
I'm sick of all the bullshit, angry like Matt White... I'm this close to throwing in the towel.
I hope that Dave goes there Monday night, rips the mic out of Scott Weiland's hand, tells Slash to get the fuck off the phone and leans into a little ATBL... AS ONLY DIAMOND DAVE CAN!!!!Comment

I'm the person who has heard the little boy cry wolf too many times. I never gave this reunion the time of day and glad I didn't. Business as usual. In fighting dramma and Ed is a drunk. What's new here. Oh, Ed is going to rehab. Then we will get all the sappy "I'm sober now and writing better than ever!" and the dude will put our more VH 3 type shit.
I'm not buying any of it until I see those guys rocking it live for a few shows. No! You can't have the keys to the wine cellar!Comment

Watching Velevet Revolver trying to play classic Van Halen songs is going to be ugly. I love Slash and his uniqueness but he's no EVH. I would rather hear som tuba player try and nail eruption or fast Yngwie Malmsteen runs. No! You can't have the keys to the wine cellar!Comment
