I miss the days before internet etc. where you camped out over night sometimes days at the box office to get the best tickets, It was a great way to show your support to the band and mingo and meet other fans.

Now wait just a fucking minute!!!

How in the fuck is this tour selling like crezzi?

      Remember, the bassplayer's not there!!!

Holy fuckin'moly, people are actually wanting to shell out the big bones to see what made fucking VAN HALEN EPIC in the first place? Nooooooooooooo????????????

      What a shocker there, no?

      It's pure pandemonium!!!

The sky is like falling and shit!!!

      LMAO!!!

What's unfortunate but in a way, just desserts 'tis the fact that all of us diehards are getting booted from the good seats for lack of funds. 'Tis kind of ironic. :p

Anyhoo, a loooooong post's a brewin' within myself. Unfortunately and prolly thankfully for you all, I'm working too much both this week and next to post it. :p

However, for those of y'all left cryin' like ol' Jaime, how can this NOT excite you as a DAVE FAN?!?!?!?!?!? If for that and that only? It does seem the true colors are coming out for all to see, no? If Mike's yer gig, then by all means cool. However, this is DAVID LEE ROTH making his comeback we're talkin' about here!!!

I'll take this straight outa "Magnum Force..."

"You're either with us or you're against us"

      "I'm afraid you've misjudged me."

      Same applies here, IMO.

      Roth On!!!
      EAT US AND SMILE!!!!

          Great post, Max.

In reference to the VIP prices, I understand the trend to try to bypass the scalpers but it ain't working. It's only giving scalpers and brokers higher valued tickets to sell. I told hubby last night, "At least the front 20 rows will be in the same tax bracket as the band." LOL!

And I'm with you on the inability to understand why the seemingly most dedicated fans are turning their noses up at this tour. I mean, if Dave's solo stuff is amongst some of the favorites to the big wheels in this forum, how come this can't be as readily accepted.

What does Michael Anthony have to do with Dave? I'm really beginning to think there might be something psychological about this. Self-defeating mentalities or something. Maybe so many years of yearning has led to a comfortable skepticism? Maybe I'm thinking to deep, but for the life of me, I can't imagine why this isn't at least welcomed just because of Michael Anthony.

Sure, it appears as though he's been screwed over. It appears as though he's been the "yes man" for many years. But what does that have to do with this time in Dave's career? We are here for Dave aren't we? We do consider him to be the voice of Van Halen don't we? And since 1985 we've considered anyone else in that seat to be unqualified, correct?

Well, here he is...right where we've wanted him and we can't see it.

Go Dave, Go! You were the No. 1 searched person on MSN for almost a week after the rumor was looking to be true. You're back in the front. Sell those tickets, rule those shows. Remind the world of what Van Halen is supposed to sound like.

sorry, no interest here........not when dave tells ya straight up if he ever got back with eddie and co. they would make huge $$$$$ - don't care if i ever heard the old songs sung again. back when they were a band i supported the hell out them, but now it just seems like another old band going out to make some bucks. maybe if they actually put out some new music, another tour, etc, my views would change - for now? no.

So you just registered here to bash this tour?
If so, why waste your time?

I think the anti-tour posters have excellent points though. The greed alone exhibited by the band for this tour, the cut throat manipulation of the fans for profit coupled with the childish sacarifice of Mike Anthony really leaves a bad taste.

I am kind of sitting on both sides of the fence. Only the emotional appeal of the memory of the music of Classic Van Halen and seeing Dave's performance at the press conference and nothing more is compelling me to support this tour.

It is clear to me at least Dave is at the top of his game. I would most definitely shell out the cash for 5 star VIP if the package included getting to do a few bong hits with Dave!

Well, I heard back in 1996 that Warner Brothers was offering each member a cool Million per show to do a reunion tour. I can't imagine what they've been offered to do this some 11 years later.

And that money has to come from ticket sales because they don't have an album to pimp.

I completely agree that there are aspects that make you cringe about MA not being there. But honestly it's the VIP tickets that are outrageous and we always knew that if Dave did a tour with the Van Halen boys that it would be an expensive ride.

Yes but - $600.00 and $700.00 a pop? Its unprecedented in the history of rock and roll to charge so much and a bit presumptuous (sp?) if you ask me....
