Not that Dave needs Edward's approval, but for so long I actually believe that the Van Halen's have bought into the lie that Dave's vocals couldn't handle the task at hand.

Those of us here on this site know the opposite to be true. Dave had ALWAYS been ripe for the chance to front Van Halen AGAIN. Its been the Van Halen's that needed to heal thine self.

Although LOTS of JD was consumed by the band back in the old days, Dave didn't start doing the "JD Bottle jerk-off" routine until the EEAS tour.

He never did it with VH.

I've noticed the last couple of solo Dave tours, he hasn't done the JD Jerk off, is it because he is cutting back his drinking or was it because the venus wouldn't allow him to?

I'm not sure if he will do it during this tour, since he didn't do it back in the day with VH.
