It's been confirmed from the original poster who was at the Saturday Night rehearsal that unfortunately both "On Fire" and "Secrets" were NOT played. I don't know how someone could fuck up and get those two songs mixed up in a setlist but apparantly they weren't played.

        HEAR ABOUT IT LATER.
This is the ONE TRUE DEEP CUT I sincerely hope they play.

          Secrets would've been great.

But I'm still surprised they're playing I'll Wait.

So, Dave already kicked the shit out of Edward and gave him a concussion and a black eye ??

This ought to go over really well...

Great report. Can't wait for LA show! Secrets would be hot but I will be pumped no matter what they play.

"I'll wait" is an odd choice, but at this point any song will do, won't it?
Will there be the fucking keyboard again, or will Ed keep to guitar only (that track can be played on guitar only, can't it?)?
The whole opening post is awesome, but it lacks precision as to know how the music actually sounds, other than "loud", IMHO.

I thought he sounded great. My friend who plays guitar and first
saw him play in 1979 thought he played a little sloppier than she's
seen before, but thought he was still phenomenal. Ed did say before
the show started that he had a concussion and a black eye and warned
"don't expect too much from me tonight." I didn't notice an injury
so I'm not sure what he was talking about.

                      On Dave:

I thought he did great, yes. There were a couple of times where he
was using that higher octave that I didn't think worked as well, but
most of the time he was on. "Mean Street" in particular he just
                      absolutely nailed.

To translate: Dave sounds awful. His voice isn't magically going to sound better just because EVH is on guitar.

                      But I'm still gonna attend.

She, then went on to say that Wolfie does his background vocals and bringing his own thing to the mix and even though Michael Anthony will be missed, the band sounds incredible.

She said the highlight was watching the Dave & Ed chemistry. There was alot of smiling between the two and they DO sound better than ever!

Another confirmation of the Rehearsals sounding BAD ASS!!

I don't believe her. NO WAY does Dave sound better than the 80's. His voice is shot, and EVH on guitar isn't going to change that.

                            Why? A chubby 16-year-old as opposed to a chubbby 53 year-old?

Other than that there is no difference.

When you see this show, please give me an honest review. The money is tight around the Hammonds household and I don’t like giving my hard earned money to multi-millionaires who don’t deserve it. If Ed is sloppy and if Dave bullshits instead of singing, I’m not going. My memories of when they ruled the world will have to do.
No prob! Warren! Ya got me beat by one year - 1979!! Anyway, I am attending both shows here in the "Windy City" and I will be semi-sober at one of them to give you as "honest" review as I can!! Remember, I am a bit biased after a 23 year wait!! And half a distillery poured the the "ole" pipe!!

Translation: You're gonna bitch about something you haven't seen yet and are going to twist everone's words around that has to suit what you think is going to happen. But if he said Dave's voice sucked, you'd be agreeing with him without hearing it.

                                Is that right?
