Your point is indeed valid.

Where it loses a little steam is in the fact that Sammy believes Van Hagar has outsold Van Halen and constantly lies to the media about it.

Your point also bogs down in that Van Hagar sales vs. Van Halen is rock vs. rock. Within the genre, the comparisons make more sense.

BTW - I think Vanilla Ice wishes he sold as much as Van Halen I.
