MTV broadcasted a Van Halen pro shot concert during the 1984 tour as part of its "Saturday Night Concert" series. But I do not know if it was an actual 1984 tour show. It may have been US Festival or Diver Down South America or something like that. Does anyone remember seeing what MTV broadcast? Was it a 1984 tour show?

If a 1984 tour pro shot exists we must bust Eddie's ass until he releases it on DVD!

VH was never featured on Saturday Night Concerts. If they were, it'd be all over you tube and here.

Why, so we can watch Dave breakdance and moonwalk across the stage in better quality ??

I would prefer VH to release stuff individually, rather than in a box set. Give each release its own 'life'. Like a DVD of the Oakland'81 show(s) with current interviews from Dave, Eddie and Alex giving their thoughts on the band during that tour.

They could do this for years and gradually introduce the CVH era to future generatons, who after reading the great reviews in various music publications, would more likely go out and buy a more affordable single release to check it out.

Like the Eagles and Led Zep have done in recent years.

You people need to learn how to read. I did not say there was a 1984 show broadcast on MTV. I said that there was a Van Halen concert broadcast on MTV DURING the 1984 tour. However that show was probably US Festival or Diver Down I would guess. However I do not know because I was an 11 year old in camp and they would not let us stay up late enough to watch it!

That's interesting. Back in '84 I remember watching a music TV show here called 'Music Express', which was on Saturday afternoons for about 3 or 4 hours (Panamark and other Aussies might recall this show). During one of these episodes they played a VH concert from their current tour and I'm sure the host said it was from Montreal. I actually recorded it on an old Beta video tape and had it for a few years before losing it!!!

Nice back peddle attempt, but US Festival was only broadcast on Showtime.. The only 1984 era proshot was for the song "Hot For Teacher" at Donnington, UK. And that's not even great quality...

Yeah you could be right. I can't 100% absolutely say it was from the 1984 tour, but it was definately a pro-shot played during that tour on a show here that always played the latest live stuff going on around the world, and I'm pretty sure the host said it was Montreal.
