It had to be 1999, because I remember talking to Sarge via AIM that year (before February, if memory serves), and we were discussing VH sites on the internet, and the Army came up, along with the other usual suspects (DLRND, VHLinks, VHND).
I know for a fact the message board didn't open til late april/may 2000...
That's when me pojo, briwnsound etc etc all migrated from vhlinks...
Archive.org listed 4/30/99 as the day this place opened it's doors...
And believe it or not.... hitch1969 didnt register here til August 2000...
And he was hated by everyone here originally... even the webbies...
I remember pojo wanted to ban him for starting a thread that Eddie Van Halen should keep drinking lol
I don't even remember if this was this site but there was a guy who made up long narratives of going out wearing panties and shitting himself on purpose to embarass others. They were hilarious.
I think the Army opened in 2000. The, as WARF said, the Pleasure Dome came along.
The Army opened in April 99'... but the message board didn't opened until late April/may 2000.... as well as the slawterhouse ghost town board... then the pleasure dome opened in October 2000. I will put my money on it... I never forget a thing. There was also a brief war with slawterhouse and here involving South Texas Rocker and staff lol.... and a early war in 2001 involving the vhlinks.... in which seshmeister interupted the arguement playing a MIDI file of Whitney Houston's, "The greatest love of all".
WARF, you should re-write your Top 100 Army members list for the ten year anniversary. This could be seen as a platinum or gold edition of the list.
I was thinking about re-vamping my list, in which Pojo and sarge would switch spots @ #1 and #2 but that was during a era I felt that Pojo Risin' was saving this web site during sarge's hiatus.
I also have compiled a list... Roth Army: 10 Year of Trolling-- The Roth Army's 100 Greatest Trolls... ranging from whatthi the original Army troll.... to katydid... joe thunder etc etc etc and even our latest troll Andy Taylor!
