What's missing is the good old fashioned VH pr machine, headed up by Dave, rolling down a street near you. Hey, we got this brand new album comin out, and plan on releasing some oldies but goodies in the next couple months, and oh ya, we're coming to a town near you to send you and yours into the spirit world. Once some of the generation y crowd got a hold of some of those old videos in surround sound, they would have no choice but to get in line to check out The Mighty Van Halen live.

One of the greatest live bands of all time and I really don't care about a Pro-Shot DVD. I would be happy with an official CVH live album, you know they must have tons of live recording laying around.......and all I get from these assholes are Live Without A Net and Right Here Right Now

There is very little to none live stage performances of Dave documented on film that is released.
There is a school of thought that live theatrics cannot be replicated on film.
You perhaps may never see these films you wish for, outside of unauthorized recordings.
To put it simply, we need to worry a lot less about how to communicate our actions and much more about what our actions communicate.

You referring to Fresno '79 ?? Didn't think that was a full show...

And don't bring up Oakland '81, although I agree with you, gives me a fucking migraine with frustration....

I bet if you had the chance to ask Eddie about why there's been no live DVDs released his answer would be:

"Hey, we just released a video game. What more do you want?!"

Didn't know they had acid-proof nets back then...

... this is a very serious mystery and it's not limited just to dave in van halen either ...

... there's a TOTAL block on official live releases from david lee roth period. there hasn't even been a live release from dave as a solo entity either. so weird. how many succesful rock artists do you know of that haven't released any live material? very few. ratt comes to mind. but ratt isn't van halen/david lee roth now is it?

... is there some kind of legal block or something? and don't say it isn't a priority for the van halen organization to push live material because live releases are a priority for van halen with sammy hagar. with dave it's the exact opposite ....

If I ever run into Edward I am gonna kick his ass. Then at least we will see VH in the news. I might even video tape it so we can have a new footage.

Anything with Mike on it you can forget about till the sisters are both dead probably !! And the last tour they forgot to bring there best like Dave said they would, other than a few shows. If you ask all the critics around here anyway. I thought they were great when I saw them. Did anyone see camera men ON the stage at any show ? All the big screen stuff was shot down low in front of the stage looking up at them. Their not going to release a dvd shot from just one vantage point are they ??

Expect nothing but maybe a new lead singer

I just finished Phil Lesh's, "Searching For The Sound". He credits letting the audience tape their shows as making The Dead as success as they were.

I never understood why a band like Van Halen, who could fucking bring it live, never took that approach or any great live band, for that matter.

It forms a community and gets your music circulated....granted, I don't think The Dead ever did the same show twice but could you imagine having soundboard recordings or properly taped CVH shows, from any tour.

                                Exactly, namely Hagar....

Imagine that lump falling off the stage and landing on 10 odd
people.... Major carnage.. LWAN - Bullshit !
