To my friends Down Under and all the cats that were going to Australia to see Van Halen, I am sorry this BS is going on. I was pissed off when I first received news =VH= was going kickstart things down there, but the selfishness quickly wore off and I was very happy for you all. Australia RoCKs! I love that fooking place! I have met many people from Australia, and every encounter was with a cool mofo. Now I am back to PISSED OFF! You guys got robbed! What a croc o' bull shit!

Eat shit and die, Hagar! This cancellation, world hunger, gonorrhea, and cancer are all your fault, you spunk monkey!

My thoughts exactly. That period they owned the world. Just look at the US Fest 83. They owned 300,000+ people. The palm of their hands. Had Dave stayed, they would be a Rolling Stones selling out stadiums every couple of years.

As for Aerosmtih, had they stayed true to the music and not gone crazy for movie ballads they would be right there too.

        This from VHND:

        Van Halen Update 8/10/11
        Wednesday, 10 August 2011

Here’s a quick update on the latest news about the upcoming Van Halen album and tour.

        1) AUSTRALIAN SHOWS, ALBUM, TOUR: MelodicRock has this update today:

A Van Halen and Soundwave Revolution Festival update for you. I’m hearing from one of my sources connected to the band that Van Halen did NOT pull out of the Soundwave Festival and had things gone ahead as planned, the band was 100% ready to appear as publicised. I have no reason to doubt this info, but I will state that I find it puzzling and somewhat disappointing there is no “official” word or statement from the band.

I am also told that there are now no plans for Van Halen to tour Australia. That’s 2011/2012 folks….no plans at all. 13 years since their first tour and now nothing. I’m hearing that the US tour remains in planning to commence in November and the studio album is due by that time.

I also hear that the band are looking for European Festival appearances for summer 2012, not necessarily any standalone dates for that region.

        2) ALL IS GOOD: We hear that all is good and that everyone in the band is doing great and that they are still working on mixing the album and planning the tour.

        3) ROTH: The “Get Ready” message is back on DavidLeeRoth.com.

        4) MORE from Tremonti: By now, everyone’s heard Mark Tremonti claim that new music sounds like “old school Van Halen.” This week, GuitarInternational asked him about hearing it:
Rob: Wow. From what I read it sounds like old school Van Halen.

Mark Tremonti: Yeah, it does. I haven’t heard a single vocal on it yet,
but it definitely had the juice, it was great.

Rob: Was it like Van Halen 1, Van Halen 2, Fair Warning era?

Mark Tremonti: I think it was a mixture of it all. It wasn’t all edgy and
dark like Fair Warning; it was a mixture, somewhere in the middle.

        5) VALERIE’S COMMENT: Just to show how little info is getting leaked out of the Van Halen camp these days, the following little request came from none other than Eddie Van Halen ‘s ex and Wolfgang’s mom, Valerie Bertinelli. Last week Valerie tweeted, “Who do I have to give birth to to get a copy of the new Van Halen record!?”

That is the closest to INSIDE info and confirmation of a new album so far. Christ, she WAS a Van Halen for a couple of decades.

*She's looking pretty damn good of late too. Damn.

I wonder how successful the VH tour of the USA (if and when), is going to be. They are clearly not a stadium act and are going to need a STRONG opener to bring anything close to capacity crowds to arenas this time around. Part of the success of the last tour was the novelty/nostalgia factor. The apparent lack of interest down under can be blamed on any and all of the bands on that roster, other than Alice Cooper and VH, it's a pretty cheesy group. Maybe they should play smaller venues (not clubs like solo Roth did) so they can at least roll with the hype of a "Sold-Out" tour. And the once mighty continue to fall.

Why do some think Fair Warning is a "dark" album? Unchained, So This is Love, Mean Street----dark? Fuck no. This was a dark era I suppose as it's around this time Ed's white hot hatred of Dave could no longer be contained. No vocals on the new tracks yet? Wonder if they scrapped everything Dave brought in or vetoed everything he sent in, or is his voice bringing auto-tune to it's knees? God I hope they don't tarnish what is left of their image with crap music.

Nobody is a bigger critic of MelodiCrock than me, but in this case, it's in Australia, so Andrew might actually have an actual source, for once. So far, I haven't seen anything from him that wasn't printed elsewhere "down under" as well.

Ok Sammy lover, great post. This post clearly represents how jealous Van Hagar fans are of the REAL Van Halen. With Diamond Dave at the helm, Van Halen do not require ANY band for an opening act and they will continue to sell out arenas all across America. Know why? People still care about the REAL Van Halen and the timeless music they created. Ronald McHagar will only be remembered for ruining a great American band. Don't believe me. He took over a band at their zenith and road them straight into the ground, culminating with a complete joke of a reunion tour that nobody cared about. Good thing Dave rides a fucking white horse!

Whisky, Im a CVH fan, they don't exist anymore. Different bass player, remember? Did you ever see them before 85? Or are you another wannabe? You know, spouting all this BS that anyone with a modem can get. The last tour, not a complete joke, but not without it's low points. More than a few shitty nights from Ed, Dave a bit tentative on stage (I think you meant to say RODE them into the ground, not ROAD). Piped in vocals and bass lines!!! I still have my doubts about what's next with these guys, sold out arenas is NOT a guarantee. You are building this up in your mind way too much and if anything negative is said you get scared. I'm just being realistic, you sound like one of those hysterical to the point of tears fans. Did you think Dave bouncing up and down on his giant microphone was cool? We are not in Kansas anymore Toto, you little pal F.O.R.D. is, doing his own trolling.
