What really pisses me off is a thread in Main arguing the "maturity" of CVH v. Sammy with absolutely NO mention of Gary Cherone and VHIII...

Maturity and spirituality comes through loud and clear on gems such as One I Want and Josephina. The band probes the depths of the human condition on Fire In The Hole. The trifecta of Year To The Day, Primary, and Ballot Or The Bullet drives home a set of political statements against the BCE that even FORD couldn't help but agree with!

And dare I say it, but who doesn't get chills listening to the ironic finger-pointing mea culpa of Edward's opus How Many Say I? A fly in the chardonnay to be sure...

Some of the ideas the band came up with for Van Halen 3 weren't half-bad. Problem was, many of them sounded only half-realized (something as trite as Newworld doesn't belong on a record where the band and producer are exercising any degree of quality control), and the way the biz was recorded and mixed...not pleasant to listen to on a sheer sonic level (How Many Say I to one side).

You know the dissappointent you feel when you see that girl from school who everyone - and I mean everyone - would have dragged their dicks through five feet of broken glass to score with, only to discover that 10 years down the line and she's turned into a fat, greasy, saggy-skinned soccer mom?

That was what it was like listening to VHIII.
