I've come across a worrying number of friends / work colleagues who, when you say you've been listening to 'Van Halen' think you mean Bon Jovi. It's the two-part name, the confusion with 80s hair bands, etc. etc.

The amount of times I have to reply 'world's apart, man - not even in the same solar system' gets a bit tiring, I have to admit.

It's partly to do with not taking care of the legacy of the 73-84 years. Hopefully that's going to change. They need to remind the world they are essentially a 70s band - they paved the way in some respects for the likes of Bon Jovi and the 80s hair bands, but to get these mixed up ... FFS.

Anyone who mistakes Van HALEN for Bon Jovi needs to be cock-slapped - repeatedly.

Quite a while back, Maybe on the DDLR board, I posted a locomotive that was make/model Van Halen. Of course now that so much chatter is about locomotive and Van Halen, I can't find the info. Anyone know what make/model ect about the train?

According to Jeff at VHND, the locomotive is "part of" the artwork concept. Who knows what that means, but we'll find out in a few weeks.

It could be part of the front cover but seeing as how secretive VH have been regarding the album, I doubt they would let loose the entire album cover.
