What's the breakdown on physical sales versus digital downloads? Shouldn't it be well over platinum if they were combined? DO they get combined? And if not, why not? Anyone know how that works? Have I asked enough questions? Who's getting hammered tomorrow for St. =VH= Day?My karma just ran over your dogma.Comment

For the life of me I can't understand why they didn't drop the album closer to summertime and start the tour at the same time.......
VH has been and will always be a summertime band.
Were there too many big names hitting the road this summer and they didn't want to compete?
Are they planning to tour the world and then do a second leg here......making it a year long tour?
I just don't understand the logic of the band.......they have a brand new summertime CD out and they are known as being a party time/summertime band........I think the timing may have impacted album salesOriginally posted by vandeleurE- Jesus . i wonder with the single selection .... we know the fans are gonna buy it , if you want a casual "rock" listener to buy it they need to hear a great single and there are loads on there but not sure tattoo was a good start .. and videos .. they have the video general on board but tattoo was tame and i aint even seen the she's the woman video and the single is out ( i think).....i think they should have released one of the better tracks ( blood and fire) and broke the bank for a classic van halen video.
But hey i aint knocking them they gave me what i always wanted , i just dont wanna be selfish and i wanna share the magic around a bit.fuck your fucking framingComment

I seen the band had a quick promo on the big screen for it at Best Buy at the last show. So they must think it's selling slower than they wanted it to be. I think the band's history the last 15 years hurt it a little. Shit the average fan walking by it in the store probably has no clue who is even in the band at this point !!! No photo on the outside. And Ed's playing the last couple tours wasn't steller at all. But gold is big these day's for any rock band though.Comment

It'd be interesting to see how many of the concert goers are attending because it's an "event" show, or are just at best casual fans of the band vs. longtime/hardcore fans who actually bought the album.Scramby eggs and bacon.Comment

Some bucks were shelled out yesterday by Interscope to promote ADKOT on YouTube. They had ads, commercials, and pop-ups all over the place, each of them saying: "Get Van Halen to #1! Download 'A Different Kind of Truth Today!" Pretty cool to see the album cover plastered all over the site - and the commercial had the train animated - it popped up when you clicked on any of Van Halen's videos. My karma just ran over your dogma.Comment

There is no money in albums anymore. Bands have to make their money on the road. It probably means bands make less money now that they did with big tours and big album money. No! You can't have the keys to the wine cellar!Comment

500,000 copies ?
And people on this board were predicting sales of 5 million ? Sheesh ...
Bruce Springsteen's 2009's "Working On A Dream" was, IMHO, one of his weakest efforts, yet that cd sold 600,000 units in amonth and eventually went Platinum.Hot dog and a shakeComment
