Well truth be told, it's shocking to not even be gold. It's not just VH it music as a whole. Was talking to producer friend few weeks ago who's been working Paul McCartneys recent project. He says be happy your not in the industry as I probed A&R options. Nobody is doing great with sales anymore, even MaDoona latest debut and sales is lame.
Point is the Internet really did mess it up. I stated a while back about how we thought Lars was an ahole decade ago via Napster etc. Well unfortunately there was too much truth than anybody saw coming, it's a shame. Least when Shamy spouts off the CFoot #'s are abismal in comparison. One fun fact for RR, Quality of last VHagar disc Balance compared to VH ADKOT nuff said.....

I still think the last 15 years of Van Halens history hurt the album sales in a way. Shit people probably wonder if Eddie is still in the band !!

So, it might hit or pass 400,000 units, here's hoping, so "GOLD" might not be outta reach, but forget Platinum, those days are gone.

Like I previously stated, I hope they go out gracefully ...

Maybe another ALL DAVE "Greatest Hits" package, loaded with fan favs, hit singles, a beautiful booklet with some unreleased pics.

Finally, the killer boxed set we have all been waiting for, a blu ray presentation of either tour, maybe both, an old vintage Van Halen concert digitally remixed and remastered for optimum sound and picture. And maybe a couple of "Live" discs, along with plenty of original demos, unreleased tracks, alternate tracks, etc etc ...

Now, I bet THAT would sell.

Then, after that, they can call it a career. I would be content with that.

Oh, last, but not least, a humougous campaign and celebration on the 30th anniversary of the release of "1984" .

The group that has about the only thing currently on pop radio that sounds like there may be a shred of talent and or knowledge of creative song writing. They do that Somebody That I Used To Know tune. Catchy & interesting.
