If you take everything into consideration...
(time apart, the battles, their age, drugs, heath, modern music)
    I think yes.

If released in 1986, It would be in my Top 3 VH for sure.

Before I call you a nut job and/or seek out your crack dealer and beat him down with a club I make out of a fine piece of Virginia Red Oak, I'll admit to the weight of this album.

I listen again and again and the album gets heavier each time.
Dave, an ARTISTIC GENiOUS, is on top of his game. Eddie Van Halen is vulcanic. Alex is a thunder God, and the Wolfgangster is representing the future of Van Halen right before your naked steaming eyes.
The more I crank this album, the more I want to crank that shit again. To put this album up as the best of Van Halen is a stretch. Gimmie some more time to expose to myself to more of this album's gamma rays and I'll get back to you.

Is A Different Kind of Truth the greatest Van Halen album of all time?

Is A Different Kind of Truth the greatest Van Halen album of all time?

          I am completely serious.

ADKOT has more awesome songs than any other Van Halen album (partially due to its length). ADKOT has the best lyrics of any Van Halen album. The case can be made that Ed's playing on ADKOT is better than any other album. Best bass playing on any VH album. Heaviest Van Halen album. Rawest VH album.

So what do you think - is ADKOT the greatest ever?

I agree, But I see what he's saying. I think what I pick up each listen, Is the crunch of the songs, I mean, At least 8 tracks hit up side the head. I'm at the stage now, Trying to decipher Ed's rhythm shit, Wolfs vocals, The stuff under Dave's lyric. This album is much more than a bunch of Eddie solos, Or Dave's genius. There's a ton of shit going on "Behind" the words/lead guitar.

I simply cannot remember the last time I was this impressed with an album release. I might like a lot of music and appreciate and enjoy so much music but I am not impressed that often, rarely in fact.......

There is no cd that touchs this cd since 1984.

I loved this song right from the start too. I got the disc a few days early on Saturday afternoon and had run through it a couple of times. I went out to the garage for a smoke later in the evening after a couple of beers or ten and threw it in my wifes JBL stereo in her car sitting right there. I opened up all the doors and cranked Outta Space just as she was walking out to join me. She was completely blown away, as the only track on the album she had heard until that point was Tattoo.

I've been making sure that my friends go out and buy the album and have been a calling radio stations and requesting various tracks off of the album.

ADKOT is the greatest album ever to be released since the Roth Army has been in existance,
Im sure you would all agree on that one

This question must be answered, even though I believe it cannot be answered, yet.
