Cash grab is such a stupid term.
They are performers providing a performance that people are willing to pay for.
I go to work and get paid for it... is that a cash grab?
Do you work? Do you get paid? Then I guess you're guilty of a cash grab as well.
A cash grab to me would have been like a stadium reunion show that was on Pay-Per-View or something and then a DVD released after. NO TOUR. NO ALBUM. NO 2ND TOUR.
“Great losses often bring only a numb shock. To truly plunge a victim into misery, you must overwhelm him with many small sufferings.”
No it's not. Nobody but dorks like us saw that DLR interview. It's Val running her mouth.
That sucker was all over the web in various print forms. I wouldn't be surprised if Wolf didn't mention it to her himself. Either way, she wasn't promoting herself, she was promoting Wolf, aint a damn thing wrong with that. Oh yeah, and Switch wants to know what size of strap on you want her to use on you.

Vallerie almost killed Ed. I read her book and she was the first to cheat on the guy soon after they were married. She admitted she never wanted to see a face that sad ever again after he found out. I mean she was the one after him, she was out to bag a rock star and be a wild little thing. The mistake Ed made was not divorcing Val after she cheated on him. Ed just steadily went downhill with Val in his life. I think she manipulated him and guilt tripped him. It's interesting and amazing as soon as a new woman enters Ed's life he goes from being the Crypt Keeper to a happy healthy guy who fucking plays guitar as good as he ever did. I think we have that new wife of his to thank. Val was just a cheating, guilt tripping, coke head who played America's sweetheart. It's amazing once she was out of Ed's life and a new woman came in how much Ed improved. Very telling I say.
Sounds like a typical bad marriage where both people foolishly try to hold onto something they should both just walk away from. My husband was an alcoholic and our marriage was probably the most dysfunctional in the world. He'd get drunk and abusive, and I'd get back at him by getting laid... monkey shit to fling at each other for 24 years or however fucking long it was. I should have walked away the first time he blacked out... he should have walked away the next day when I went and got my revenge.

I remember Sam saying Val guilt tripped Ed a lot. He said it was a catch 22. Ed would drink because the marriage was bad and then feel guilty that he drank. He said Val often blamed him for Ed's drinking and Sam felt like saying hey bitch, it's your constant guilt tripping driving him to it. I think Ed was always under pressure. In the early days the band owed Warner Brothers big time and the pressure was on Ed to hammer out new songs that sold. Then being a guitar god has to be a lot of pressure because you have to live up to people's expectations. Then you had egos and tensions in the band. I can see where Ed really wanted a security blanket wife because he's not a go out and party type guy like Roth. Then your security blanket cheats on you after you have completely opened up to her and married her. Then you drink to the ease the pain. She's a coke user, you are a coke user and it spirals down from that. I bet it was quite morbid.

Once the trust is gone, it's fucked. You have nothing.
Poor Wolf probably witnessed some pretty nasty shit. That's my biggest regret in not walking away, what my son went through. But, then I think my kid's a pretty awesome incredible young man, and who knows what he'd be like if I had left? He doesn't drink because of his dad's drinking, maybe the genes would have won and he would have been a drinker had he not hated it in his father so much.
That guilt trip thing is always a part of it, in some form or another. So is blaming the person that your partner is drinking with.
Wolf's damn lucky to have his dad smarten up like he did. Then again, Ed had hit bottom so hard, I don't think he'd be alive today if he hadn't gotten clean.

Yup... all you've got is dirt to throw at each other to push each other's buttons. Trust is probably the most important thing to me now, in any relationship. Once you breach my trust, that's it...you're out of my life... permanently.

A lot of people try to keep it going because there are kids involved. I get that but if the parents don't trust each other then it's not going to work. A lot of people wait until the kids move out of the house and then get divorced.
