If you had of said a year ago we would have a tour a kick ass new cd and a coherent Evh I would have told to take more water with it , at this point all bets are off , what's to say when the tour finishes we don't get a live DVD with some old live footage thrown in as a sweetner or maybe the vaults could just start to drip feed us one Jem at a time ... We are in exciting times we got what we always wanted what's to say we won't get more of the samefuck your fucking framingComment

And one more thing...I just want to say thanks and give credit where credit is due to the people who made this new record and tour as freaking awesome as it is - thanks to the Roth Fucking Army! That's right, the Roth Army. Everybody here laid out what songs they wanted to hear on the new record (even which old demos you wanted on the record) AND you've practically written the setlist for them. I'm glad that Wolf is listening to the fans - meaning you guys. So thanks to the Roth Army!!!!American by birth. Southern by the grace of God.

Ed seems very chill and serene yet enthusiastic on this tour. Nothing seems to phase him (spotlight fuckups, etc.)
He hasn't played this good in years. I was wondering if he'd ever be on top of his game again. He's kickin ass every fucking night.
Picking up my tickets for the London show this week...
I truly believe a huge part of why he is so comfortable on stage now is David lee Roth. With Van Hagar, most eyes were on Eddie. He was the brightest spotlight. Dave takes a shit-ton of heat off Eddie which comes as a relief to Eddie nowadays. He strived for the main spotlight & when he finally got it in 1986 he started to realize he didn't want it all.
And they haven't made a spotlight bright enough to get under DLR's skin. RAWR! MOTHERFUCKERS!!“Great losses often bring only a numb shock. To truly plunge a victim into misery, you must overwhelm him with many small sufferings.”Comment

That's it man - I've been thinking this almost non-stop since February. As far as Van Halen and Diamond David Lee Roth fans are concerned, this is the shit we'll be talking about when the band is dead and buried and we're all shuffling around with walkers. Not many bands get to enjoy such a resurgence. Not many bands are even relevant at this point in their career. Van Halen has virtually done the impossible: cleaned up Ed's demons, delivered a seriously kick-ass album that pretty much made everyone happy, and followed it up with a sell-out tour. Talk about damn good times... hell, I haven't even stopped geeking out over 'Ripley' making it onto an official VH release yet!My karma just ran over your dogma.Comment

'A Different Kind of Truth' has held up incredibly well for me - particularly since we're approaching the three month mark since its release. In the back of my mind I try to remind myself not to get burned out on it - but it's a compulsion. I can't help myself...it's my go-to disk for pretty much any occasion these days. I love putting it on and cranking it up for friends and family who aren't aware that Van Halen even have a new album out (get a lot of: "Who is THIS?") My guitar-freak cousin loves Van Halen like I do, but he takes the burn-out thing way more seriously. Loves the new album - but listens to it sparingly. I say fuck it - after growing up with Van Halen, Van Halen II, Women & Children First, Fair Warning, Diver Down, and 1984 as the soundtrack to my life - ADKOT has some catching up to do.My karma just ran over your dogma.Comment
