I'm not going to speak for anyone else, because there are some that want to chase this band through town with a torch and a pitchfork.
The way I see it, as long as they keep it together and keep doing what they're doing, the real reason for the postponed dates is completely irrelevant.

I can't help but call "bullshit" on this.

Something won't let me believe that they just threw a bunch of darts at a map and slapped a quick tour together just to play the Garden.
Not knocking MSG by any means, it's a major accomplishment for any band to play there, but to center an entire tour around it is kind of dumb, and I'd like to believe they're much smarter than that.

Who knows...

Maybe there was some contractual options that were exercised for reasons that are yet to be understood. Maybe they wanted to wax part of the crew or set up a new stage production...particularly since they were dropping by the same areas again.

I am not going to complain until I see where this is going. Bunch of beatches...

I think it's common knowledge at this point that the Van Halens look at the band as a family business with Dave as a hired hand. If they could get away with it they would absolutely go on as a power trio (with Wolf on vocals) or one of Alex's sons singing. Would it make you feel better for them to lie through their teeth? I agree with whoever says who cares how EVH feels or what his "ideal" version of the band is (i.e. everyone in it is a Van Halen). It's a shame that he looks at Dave as someone he's "stuck" with in order to still be a marketable band, but I'm glad Dave is where he belongs, even if it's not for the right reasons. I'm grateful Ed at least understands he needs Dave, something he didn't understand from 1985-2006.
