I gotta agree on this fuckin point....in all of the 2012 interviews Dave has done, he has been respectful to "The Three Twins" 150%. Not ONE fuckin off the cuff remark. Eddie has had some slips that no doubt have been ugly. Now...I fucking wonder if Dave did an interview tomorrow..and got fuckin catty, threw a few genius jabs in there (man I kinda miss those Eddie Van Heineken quotes)...you think those Van Halen's would let it roll off their backs like Dave has with Eddie's comments????

Unlike you, I'm not OK with giving Eddie a free pass every time he says something offensive or stupid. You can only tolerate a guy's bullshit for so long before you call him out on it. Back in the 80's, we easily accepted Ed's delusions about "Dave left because he wanted to be a huge movie star" or "He would throw tantrums if anyone else had blond hair onstage". Then we found out the REAL TRUTH later and it made him look foolish and egomaniacal.

So here we are in 2012 and Eddie makes a flippant comment about he and Valerie shoulda had another kid who could easily replace Dave. Eddie feels good about himself that his kid easily replaced Mike Anthony so why not extrapolate to Dave as well, eh? I've had enough of the " EVH REALITY DISTORTION FIELD" (tip o' the hat to Steve Jobs).

I have no problem going to a VH show and watch Eddie the guitarist do his thing onstage. But I am definitely not comfortable with Eddie the human being being his usual douchey self and getting away with it.

Apologist. Yup. That's what I do. Make apologies for other people. ESPECIALLY WHEN ONE ISN'T NEEDED!! Good grief, your problems are worse than I thought.

So he said he can only take Dave in small doses. I have some great friends that I can only take in small doses. Doesn't make me love them any less.

This band has been doing so much these days that they really don't have to do. They've made their mark long ago. What they're doing now is strictly for the fans. Victory laps & victory dances. And probably some victory lap dances for Dave! So to remain caught up in the pointless Mike/Wolf debate or the non-issue Ed/Dave debate is just an energy draining exercise in futility.

Crowbar's remark the other day about some fan's being easily pacified is partially true. We're pacified, but it wasn't easy. Concessions have been made, just like the ones in life that have to be made all of the time. We just bought a smaller house than what we were living in because it was at the end of a nice secluded dead end in a better neighborhood. Previously, we lived on a busy main road with transients and drifters constantly walking by. Now my kids can ride bikes and play in front of the house and there's no road noise. Downside is they have to share a bedroom. A concession we'll deal with. Wolf in place of Mike? I can deal with that.

I think somewhere in the Best Show In 07/08 thread, somebody posted a picture of a guy whose shirt read "WE CAN DIE NOW". That really sums things up for me right now regarding VH. I love ADKOT and I saw them tear through Hear About It Later and Girl Gone Bad live. I'd be a fool to expect or ask for anything more. If they continue past this tour, that would be icing. Like Dave said, "Thanks for the dream."

Wolfie doesn't impress me at all as a 21 yr. old adult with a functioning brain. He's worked with Dave on 2 tours and 1 album --- and all he can say about him is "Dave is the Energizer Bunny". That's all you got ??

I'd have a helluva lot more admiration for the kid if he'd say something like:

"Dave is always witty and funny and it wears me down a little --- but that guy is a legendary frontman who taught me a lot about how to be a good performer. I will always respect Dave and what he brings to Van Halen".

100% accurate --- 100% truthful --- 100% classy ----- but I doubt we'll ever hear that coming out of Wolfer's mouth.

I don't get it either...we have a new album which is killer! we got a sober band which is delivering a fine show night after night (Dave is getting stronger and stronger) so enjoy the fucking moment before it is over!
