Meditation isn't boring at all. You are going on a real ride. Pick something you really like doing, get in a quiet place and think about doing it. Or something you would like to do but can't like flying through space and having whole galaxies zip by like lampposts going by a fast car. Get really into it for like 15 minutes to a half hour and when you snap out of and come back you will be amazed at how more creative you are and the more ideas you have. We used to do this as kids. It's not like you are stuck in some boring movie someone else made or stuck in some boring church service. You are the movie. It can be a real trip.

It also helps your mental discipline to concentrate instead of being distracted this way or that way by outside influences. In this age of mass marketing and social manipulation through the media it's a good skill to hone.

I also love those fish and koi ponds. I have one in my front and backyard...

I can remember in 1978 thinking this is where the future is going to be and I was right. I remember living in Israel a country with the highest number of PHD's per capita and even with all those smart industrial people I thought this place is going nowhere. Why? They were too focused on that whole God of Abraham distraction. The Asians don't have that lead tied around their ankles. They have moved on without losing all their spirituality like the atheists in the west have who frankly seem to be very angry and biter most the time.

Hopefully this is a phobia you soon alleviate- how would you be able to be in a concert hall or stadium for 2 hours when you see VH>??

I tried to do that when I go to sleep, since I have trouble falling asleep, but I just get stuck in bad thoughts and bad memories. It's scary when you are alone with your thoughts.

Our society now has instant gratification as the norm in most aspects so sadly, many would find it 'boring' to meditate and listen to water as a source of inspiration.

I too love running water sound and even better having a water view, and mountains..

I asked him why and it was to get focused and to remove himself from all the distractions of the outside world. It's not to get attention, it's for self improvement and to make things better. Look at what the Japanese have done. They flooded the world with reasonably priced high quality goods. People got VCRs in their home because the Japanese managed to make the technology affordable. People could buy great motorcycles and cars at reasonable prices. The best blades are still made in Japan. I have a whole set of KAI knives that are fabulous. All from a country that has little resources.

Go and get a little water fall fountain and put it in your home. See how the sound of the running water relaxes you. You will be surprised.

I think I am going to die everytime I see that actress, even in a picture, BORING, maybe you were correct in your feelings that movie sucked, way large.

Perhaps, you will reach out and study some other cultures and maybe you already have, the Oriental Demographic, may not thrill you as some other, it is, all good.

I have never done, (self study by looking at others) the way the schools teach . I sometimes have lost myself in others .

Looked way inward got lost there too.

Good Bad it's all in the game.

Instant gratification but people are letting others pull their chain for them. I majored in finance but I also took a lot of marketing and market research classes. In fact, my job at American Express was more market research based than finance based. When you start to learn how much power advertising and marketing has over the public it's scary. The holy grail of marketing is to start a trend and let the social status quo drive it. In fact, Hitler was a master of doing that. Once you get the people on board and make it to where the public goes after anyone who does not fall step in line with the trend the society actually starts to automatically carry your plan out.

This is why people should be informed and think for themselves instead of swimming like a big school of fish. It's why I promote individualism. Most innovations happen from an individual thinking differently and often they are looked at as being crazy by society. Then their invention works and people see it's useful and then they become a hero. I think group think is dangerous and never liked it. I really don't like groups honestly I prefer individuals. It's why I hate poetical parties. It's group think at it's worst.
