he also loves Japanese arts(drawings, paintings), movies, comics, martial arts etc...
he has a wide knowledge of them. he desired to tour Japan with the band and it was booked.

but I don't know why he loves the Japanese culture so much.

I used to frequent the heavy metal club in Tokyo that Van Halen went to when they toured Japan in '79.... It was called Byblos back then, in the Akasaka district of the city....

ALL of the bands went there, they had pictures with all of them and a fake stone wall that the bands would autograph....

All of the girls were leather mini-skirt & pumps wearing headbangers, it was a GREAT club....
