    First Week #'s for BOVII

    From Hits Magazine:

Don’t have a cow, man, but Simpson’s all over #1 this week.

That’s Ashlee Simpson, of course, whose debut album, Autobiography (Geffen) is a huge, over the top, undeniable runaway of a smash hit for the younger of the MTV-driven sisters. The album is set to rule the chart this week, based on sales approaching 400k, according to the sales tally still in progress.

Lined up to rock their way to #2, meanwhile, are Warner Strategic Marketing’s Van Halen, whose Best of Both Worlds_should end up with a first-week total of about 150k. This week’s number one, Jimmy Buffett, should see the usual second-week decrease of about 50%, which should put him in the 115k zone.

I'm not positive right this second, but I believe this is about 100k short of BOVI.

I was thinking 100-150k. So its thereabouts. Good figures considering how poor the only new content on the album is.

    K-tel obviously still works !!
BABY PANA 2 IS Coming !! All across the land, let the love and beer flow !
    Love ya Mary Frances!

Based on these early estimates, I think BOBW will end up selling around 250,000. This has to be considered a major flop.

It certainly won't come anywhere near the numbers that BOV1 pulled in, which says a lot about the level of interest in the three new tracks featuring Sammy.

Remember, this is a double album, so sales count double. In other words, if it sold 150,000 that means it really only sold 75,000.

          That ain't SHIT!!!!!!!

              How do you figure, shitlips?

Counting units sold twice for a double album is a FACT, dumbfuck!

the only time you double it is for the riaa...soundscan is NOT doubled. If soundscan says it sold 150,00, it sold 150,000. the only time you double it is it only has to sell 250,000 to be considered a Gold Record.

No friends in the industry are needed...just a little common sense about how the music industry works...you have any questions about that, use that computer at your fingers and go do yourself a little research about how double album packages work in regards to sales with the RIAA...there are plenty of places that'll tell you the same thing...

Fact is, BOBW is doing crap compared to BOV1, and that's already apparent. News flash - sales are NOT going to improve...and then what? This whole "reunion" becomes even more of a failure than it already is... :D

The real concern here is returns. The amount of hoopla over the errors could kill this package in returns in the next few weeks, meaning it could sell a LOT less total. Could make VHIII look like a triumph.

So let's starting adding it up. Horrible tour, lost money. New record, losing money. New singles failed, losing airplay rapidly.

Mr. Roth, would you please pick up the white courtesy phone...

if it is at 150,000 thats not a bad week considering the market. would it sell more if dlr had new tracks on there? probably not many more than that...its a shitty deal no matter who is singing the new songs

Touche, Doucebag. When does your shift start?

I think if it was with Dave, coupled with a tour, you would see more Ashlee Simpson like numbers. It is just an issue of pent up demand, but the tour would be the key. The fuck-ups wouldn't help anyone, but I think Dave would want a little tighter control after the BOVI.

Ashlee Simpson has zero talent. She is only signed because of her sister, who got signed because she is hot. Asslee isn't even good looking, AND she can't sing. To even make the quote, "I think if it was with Dave, coupled with a tour, you would see more Ashlee Simpson like numbers," shows what a sad state the music business is in
