    Van Hagar.....

Van Hagar are definitely NOT living up to the expectations set by the Hagar faithful and Hagar himself. Kiss tore through America in 96' on their reunion tour. Same with the Eagles back around 94'. Even F Mac a few years ago on their first reunion were doing excellent business. This tour (UNLESS SOMETHING DRASTIC HAPPENS) is not going to come near those tours. They'll end up grossing a good amount of money simply because the tix are so high, but the number of people per night, even if improved upon the 7.068 average through the first 13 shows will most likely not rival any of those bands. How anyone can say it wouldn't be any bigger with Roth is just stupid.
    DLR/VH IS JUST BETTER

        Sniper,

Don't like reality? It is what it is. It ain't gonna get any better than the first week numbers. Most releases fall on average 50% in the second week. Do I hold the major powers EVH? Nope, can't claim too. I would never try to speak for you as a fan, your much to smart for the rest of us, but you can't argue with facts.

As far as people losing their shirt, it is truth, if you knew any facts about the situation, you would know. Deal with it.

If they cut off the Roth songs it would sell alot better. Dont you people get it that Roth sucks and is not a big name in music anymore.

Truth is, and I never thought I would say this, Kiss and Aerosmith own Van Helen
So I guess it's all relevent to one's perspective and what you are comparing the measurement of success or failure to..?

If your perspective is a Dave reunion w/ VH would produce multiple night sellouts at venues like Madison Square Gardens... then this tour is an utter failure... Although the prespective is based on speculative fantasy with no basis in fact for today's tour market.

If compared to either Sam and the Waboritas or Dave w/ DLR Band recent solo tours or even the Sam & Dave tour... you could say it's a marginal success based on how many butts they are putting seats. Nothing significantly stellar but just somewhat better numbers.

Comparing fan perspectives from a Sam or Dave angle... obviously the Dave years were the tops... but the comparison to a good portion of the Sam years held simular draws. Are Van Hagar fans wrong for getting excited about this tour? Nah it's about one's standards... some folks are happy as can be with hotdogs and beans for dinner... Others don't get worked up unless it's steak and lobster...

Thats kinda the point. I may be speculating but I think there are more of us steak and lobster types. Of course, right now, they are serving hotdogs and beans..

Regardless if BOV2 was gonna be released without Van Halen's participation or not, just the very fact that 2 out of Halen's last 3 releases have been greatest hits compilations is telling me nothing other than Halen is just dead in the water creatively. In the studio and on the stage.

Just cashing in on past glories. And why not? If EVH and Co got nothing better to offer than retreads and there are fuckers dumb enough to pay for them, I say these fools deserve to have their money taken.

Not really conjecture to say that if classic Halen had been playing the same venues Van Hagar are this year, you wouldn't be seeing places selling only 2/3 of the tickets.

yeah i agree with big daddy...i really dont think its a sam vs dave thing at all as more of a why? hell i made a bet with rik that it would go gold and I didnt even buy it...just downloaded the new tracks from ITunes. to me, the new bobw was only worth $3. id love if soundscan pulled those numbers in, and i remember them working on it, but album sales in total wouldnt look so pathetic as i think people are buying discs that way

It's official. A #2 record with 146,936 copies sold. #1 is Ashlee Simpson with 407,950 and Jimmy Buffett in at #3 with 140,465.

                            Spectacular results, boys...

Getting spanked by Ashlee Simpson sums it up. The bitch is the ugly no talent sister of a beautiful no talent pop star. Ashlee can't sing, doesn't write her music and is average at best to look at and she sold over twice as many. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.! it isn't because the disc is bad or anything...just those last 3 songs. It is because there is no need for it at all.

People thought VHIII was gonna sell more than 4 copies to a family of Hillbillies in Ohio! WHO cares what BOBW does saleswise? No matter How little it sells won't make a difference. The Lying Dutchmen have proved, time and again, that they have NO regard for what their fan base WANT: the return of DAVID LEE ROTH!!!!!
