Physically he's in great shape for a man his age. I was refering to his motivation towards making another solo album. Would he want to go through all the trouble of making another album with a new band or even with guys he's recorded with in the past like Steve Vai. Wouldn't it be nice for him if he put out a new album that was so good people would say he should have put it out earlier instead of trying to relive his glory days as the lead singer of Van Halen. Wouldn't that be cool for him to tell Ed and Alex he's not interested in recording another album of 30 year old songs and if they can't get Sammy to record another album they should give the real Bette Midler a call.

The best part of the the ADKOT tour was dusting off the old songs... Personally, hearing Hear About It Later live again was fantastic, not to mention all of the other ones they brought out.....

So if they continue to do that next tour, bring out Drop Dead Legs, D.O.A, and a couple others, I'll be a happy guy....

That's your opinion. Sounded damn good in the studio to me. As far as live goes, there are mostly good bootlegs out there from back in the day whereby he's pulling of his screams and singing in key. Your employer mostly sings flat. Rarely in key. That's what happens when you aspire to be like Michael Bolton and you fail.

I'm not bashing Dave (I guess I am though). I'd just like another Fair Warning strength album. I just looked up Van Halen on Wiki and it named the classic era line up as the band members. Then I noticed I was on the Van Halen (album) page not the (band) page.

So the music was old? Big fucking deal. Lyrics were all new, and while us "die hard" fans recognized the music (because we have heard all the boots) there are millions of people out there who haven't.

Just like there are millions of people out there who bought the "expanded" remasters of the Stones' "Some Girls" and "Exile on Main Street" and didn't know any of the "new" songs. It's hard for me to imagine not knowing any of that material, but some folks just aren't into bootlegs for whatever reason.

So if Dave & Eddie (or Mick & Keef for that matter) can go through some old tapes and make a credible album out of it, what's the problem with that? If they can make one just as good from scratch, that would be great too.

The stuff on ADKOT sounds old but not in a good way. When Zep put out In Through The Back Door as a follow up to Presence I was totally disapointed because it wasn't as hard. Why can't VH put out another album that's better than the others instead of fitting in with the last of the six pack? The hardcore Dave or the grave peeps loved it but I'm not one and I didn't. I'm not a fan of Marilyn Manson or his "music". I'm not holding my breath to hear what Dave's done with John 5 either. I hear he's a competent guitarist but I've never heard any great guitar work on any Manson songs that would make me want to listen to that douchebag. Not John 5, Marilyn. Alice Bowie's music sounds better than that clowns "music". Don't even ask me to compare his shit to Cooper or Bowies stuff. He literally sucks big green donkey dicks. I saw a picture of him doing it on Google just the other day.
