Hey!! We gotta have something to fight about! Might as well be over how much money we think Dave has or doesn't have.

I really don't give much of a shit either way other than I'm happy the guy ain't broke. But I suspect Dave has some hidden assets and land that isn't being counted...

First no one spends a million like that if you are down to your last few million particularly not a smart middle aged Jewish guy.

Secondly he filmed it at his own house. I smell a clever tax accountant...
I don't remember the video being available on opening night or when I saw Dave open in Pittsburgh.

I did see DLR get into a taxicab after the Diamond Dave show here at Nautica Stage. Fuckin' Sencio couldn't have gotten the guy a limo? Some manager!

Well, if DLR is keeping homes in Pasadena, NYC, and Tokyo, I'm going to predict that "he ain't hurtin'."

Yeah, I don't think Dave was ever really hurting for cash. He was asked this very question in a recent interview and I believe his answer was he wasn't ever broke but he did have to keep working. Now, does that mean he had to keep touring to pay the bills? Probably not. But to keep up the lifestyle he has can't be cheap - I mean, hookers, midgets and blow ain't free, lol. But seriously, waaaayyy back in the day Dave was being interviewed and he says something like "yeah, I have a car, so I have two cars" but he said he spent most of his money on "experiences" or travel in normal person english. So he never pissed away a ton of money on cars or race horses or mansions. And as far as houses, the guy lived out of hotel rooms from the first VH tour all the way up until the early 90s. So it's not like he had a need for more than one permanent "home".

Ok, so we've rehashed Dave's bank account. What's next? Hair thread?

I have to disagree. Didn't he spend like 25 or 50 grand on that stupid dragon tattoo on his back? 25 grand will buy you a kick ass hair transplant! I mean, it's your own hair. It grows and everything. Dave could have went back to the '81 hair style instead of that giant forehead he has now. Jesus, the guy looks like he's auditioning for the next Cone Heads movie.

And DB and I figured this out a while back: there is a direct correlation between Dave's hair and how good he sings. It's like Sampson - Dave cuts his hair off and he sucks. Remember the '94 tour? Short hair Dave? Shitty, shitty shows. Fast forward to the late 90s - long hair Dave. Awesome tours, killer high kicks. Hell he even did some jumps off the drum riser! And his singing was much improved. And just look at this last tour. It's been years since Dave had his magic long hair and now he can't even sing Happy Birthday without screeching like a drunken prom date.

That's true. But thanks to Dave's Magic Hair he launched himself 37 feet into the air. Now, the height isn't really important. It's the hang time. And on this night, Dave's Magic Hair held him up there at the apex of his flight while the band played Unchained. The entire song.

Whether or not Dave's projects fail, I have to give him credit for actually doing something, instead of squandering his time and talent.
As for John 5, I can appreciate his working with as many artists as he has...it's made him all the more versatile and improved his playing.
Loyalty to an artist/band means fuck-all these days...just ask Jason Newstead and Michael Anthony how that worked out for them.
Dave could have very well been the one to advise John to take any offer that comes his way. The guy's resume is pretty impressive.

Ah, but it was longer on top. See, that made all the difference.

Also, there's some fairly strong evidence to Punk guitarists having an influence on rockers adorning their axes.
Here is a thread that shows that Rhoads lifted ideas for two of his guitars from The Cramps Bryan Gregory.
I'm an obvious fan of the guy, but am willing to admit between the two links below clearly show he wasn't very original image-wise.
The Scorpions had the two-tone thing going early on...not sure when they started with the stripes. Maybe with the arrival of Matthias?
Sorry, I've gone way off-topic, here...
