Originally posted by EmpyreLounge44 i dont see many singers patterned after DLR either? who do you think has. i really cant see or think of anyone...the guy from the darkness sometimes...but he is more mercury than anything else.
dlr and halen started the legacy and until 1996, hagar maintained it. no i havent heard anyone say they wanted to be like sammy but until '96, like the music or not, he did keep the ship straight and didnt tarnish the general public perception...and you can argue that he did nothing good either. i dont know if thats good or bad to maintain.
oook....I think I got my message from above. You're not a fence sitter after all, you're a Hagarita Sheep, and my condolences go out to you for not even realizing it.
You think that Justin Hawkins from The Darkness is the only guy to 'sometimes' emulate Roth? Either you're kidding just to stir the shit, didn't live thru your teenage years in the 80's, or you've got your head so far up your ass that you wouldn't have noticed, just to name a few....
* Jon Bon Jovi
* Marq Torien
* Brett Michaels
* Stephen Pearcy
* Gary Cherone (the MOST successful ROTH fan)
* Kevin Dubrow
* Jani Lane
* Vince Neil
* Mike Tramp
ALL of the above, in various interviews thru the 80's AND thru ROTH ONLY tribute CDs, have expressed that they're ROTH ONLY fans, including Gary Cherone. And THAT'S WHY you'll NEVER hear a bad word outta my big mouth towards Gary Cherone.
Look at the bright side, the truth won't hurt shoved up your ass 'cause your head's already there.
Then again, with your head shoved so far up your ass, you won't be able to see the bright side, or anything bright, for that matter....will you?

Lemme guess, you got it from the movie 'Christine', right? :D
LOL!!! Great movie. John Carpenter is awesome!
Actually, I also heard Alex Van Halen use it on Rockline too! He was talking about the BALANCE album at the time!:D

your right i didnt live my teenage years in the 80s...i thought that you were talking about singers of bands today...like newer bands that were emulating DLR. of course there were a ton back in the day, i just cant think of one in todays bands
and your right cherone is a big dlr fan, hell extreme opened for dlr back in the early 90s. when i interviewed him, he said that he stepped aside for thats what the fans wanted...that was pret of the reason he left VH.
Originally posted by Matt White Its great to see that our brothers and sisters in the Great White North know as we do....DAVID LEE ROTH IS VAN HALEN!!!
Absolutely, my friend! I was nine years old when 1984 came out. I thought it was the greatest thing ever, and I put my nose in the air after that. At 11, I realized that Van Halen sucked without Dave. I loved Eddie, but Dave was the reason I got into the band. And that will never change. The band made some okay music with Hagar, but it just ain't the same. I even think they were in some ways better with Gary. But there is only one Van Halen. And if that band never comes back, then there will always be the memories. The band that is out there touring right now AIN'T Van Halen. It's a sham.
