It might have been better if Eddie had done it like Ronnie Wood did in his 3/5 of a Faces reunion. Woody brought his son Jesse into the band as a rhythm guitarist, not as a "replacement" for Ronnie Lane or Rod Stewart. (though he did have other replacements for those two. Glenn Matlock was there because Ronnie Lane is dead, and Mick Hucknall was there because Rod Stewart might as well be)

It wouldn't have been as big a deal (read: disappointment) if they had brought in some other dude who'd actually, I don't know, played bass in a band before. You know, maybe someone who had actually paid some dues over the years. Maybe somebody that could even do a decent job of covering Mikey's missing vocals. Not a clone or some tribute band dude, just somebody that could pull it off without forever looking like somebody who really has no business onstage with VH. Of course, a full on reunion would have been the way to go. And no matter who they picked to stand up there, it would have been a disappointment. But perhaps not so much of one if the guy had a little cred.

Ralph Saenz? I think I would be more interested in Ralph Maccio's take on the current state of Van Halen....he is at least equally relevant

Perhaps now that he's played in that other band. But sure as hell not when he showed up at that press conference...

I wonder if they put him through RNR Boot Camp: groupies, drugs and booze 101.
