Have they been promoting this setlist ??

When It’s Love
Night two in Vegas… Lets just say, we were up until 6:00 am and then out all day and I was dragging. I took some herbal supps to get myself prepped for the night. We headed over to the Mandalay Bay and again got there just in the nick of time. We were not at our seats yet but I could hear that VH had already hit the stage, surprisingly, the band did not open with Jump, but rather Ain't Talkin 'Bout Love. Nothing like getting the crowd "up" from the start! We didn’t rush in because Wolf and I needed our Jack and Cokes! We got seated and noticed the set list didn’t not change much from the night before… I wasn’t expecting too much tonight, infact I was less than enthusiastic! HOW WRONG I WAS! Sammy, Mikey, & Eddie were jumping around the stage and engaging the crowd from the opening song! Mike and Sammy definitely have a strong bond though and Eddie just doesn’t seem to find his place among them. I did get the feeling that the fans were psyched to see Eddie, Sam, Alex and Mikey again because the place was Rockin!
Eddie's tone was a lot drier tonight and less effected than Friday night. In other words, his tone was "BROWN". Eddies playing Saturday was fairly accurate until after his solo. By fairly accurate, I mean he was hitting most of the notes, but would be slightly out of tempo w/ Mike and Alex, or he'd play a couple wrong notes and then bring it back… But then I’ve always thought Eddie was a bit of an improviser, but that's what makes each VH concert unique! You never know what you'll be getting!
Now his solo was edgy, and not in a good way. He laid on the ground in front of one of his 5150 straight cabs, which longer feature the Peavey logo but instead are replaced by a huge "EVH" logo and just wailed into the intro. Then he played a few rifts (in between feedback) from "women in love" and "dance the night away” Ed said onstage that this was a "work in process". Whatever. Again, the audience didn’t care, it was Eddie! But I cared, BECAUSE it was Eddie and I wanted to see him do MORE and I want him to be OK… 13 or so minutes later, Sam, Alex and Mike kicked into "Top of The World", and the show went on and picked up it’s energy again…
The crowd was into every song. I was screaming so loud that I lost my voice and I still haven’t got it back! Saturdays show was awesome and Eddie was in better form that night; however I liked his solo better Friday night! I’m seeing them again on Monday so we’ll see what happens next…
Fab OUT~
Did I mention that Eddie played the new EVH Charvel (black and yellow) on only the new tune "Up for Breakfast". The rest of the show was his Tobacco burst Peavey Wolfgang.Comment
