Thanks Lou, I'll pass. I think everyone knows VH really died in '86.

You'd be surprised, Madraoul. The SHEEP think that EVH popped out of the ground in 86, playin' Power Ballads and wearin' sweat pants!
In reality, he popped out of Spammys ASS, ready to homogenize his once mighty sound into a gutless shell of what it once was.
      A SAD year for music.

      FUCK YOU Van Hagar!!!

Well they think that Sammy brought "the band" (like it was always a trio, plus some singer) to new heights. I've literally read those words, "new heights."

Can't believe I missed this....betting on college football sucks but it's a sucky kind of suck that makes your mind wander.

Lotsa good replies so far, but since I'm lazy I'll just do my best with the query above.

          1. Lemming, hatchet wound, and van hagar queersexual are still available.

          2. God is a member here, and he ain't listenin'.

          3. Do you conversate about ham radio? There's a huuge cellular tower up by the interstate.

What the fuck is Nutt thinkin'? %^@&*^*'n point spreads......

Seriously, I realize the casual fan may have bought that garbage for a couple of albums, but what the fuck!

Funny, I remember in the 80's when MANY people thought of them as DAVID LEE ROTH and EVH with a drummer and a backup singer.

And MANY of us STILL think that way!!!

Hell I bought 5150, OU812 and FUCK and listened to them a few times. A lot of us bought Van Hagar albums. But when you get older your tastes change. Like before 1997, all I knew was "alternative music" and I thought that was all good. Knew nothing about classic rock and roll and scoffed at it to tell you the truth. And then my tastes just changed when I hit 16, I discovered classic rock and roll and never looked back. All the "alternative music" I thought was good, now most of it I of course know it's shit.

Similarly I grew out of Van Hagar in 2001. Since I didn't grow up with the real Van Halen, I was starting fresh with both eras, and yes I had to go through a phase of listening to both repeatedly to finally and gradually understand what the deal was here. I had to "catch up" since I didn't live it. Well in 2001 when it hit me, it hit me hard and I thought to myself, "God why did I ever like Van Hagar"? I don't know to this day I'm still kinda hard on myself about that, I should have realized a lot quicker that Van Hagar sucks :D

What's sad though is people who did live Van HALEN and are Van Hagar fans nonetheless, in their 30's...those people have no shot of being saved, they inherently like sellout music. I don't inherently like sellout music, and once I realized that Van Hagar was sellout music, that's what saved me.

Maybe because I actually grew up hearing that guy's solo shit, I knew when to pull the plug. Dave or Sammy? How can you possibly have a problem with this?

And I love the "Spammy was a STAR before Van Hagar" bit. The guy had ONE hit, that CHEESE FEST 55.HAHAHAHA!!!!!
He came "roaring up out of oblivion" just like DAVE said back in the day. Then he turned the GREATEST AMERICAN HARD ROCK BAND into JOURNEY. No debate accepted. RUINED THEM. And his solo career? "Hey, I got a GREAT idea! Let's remake ROCK AND ROLL PART 1 by GARY GLITTER!!!" AHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Unbelievable!!!!!!!

I went into the Air Force and never heard another peep from that fucker until he joined the big VH. Much like today, it was a sad day for America.

A few pages back, I asked Bard to explain his logic here and he didn't. I wonder why. Does this quote make any sense to any one here? can you explain it to me??

LOL Im awake. I just dont take this shit as seriously as some of the other people here do. Damn guys. Its the internet. Its Dave. He doesn't and wont care what Fab says. You guys are raising and lowering your war flags so much over this crap its embarassing. I didn't get offended by Fabs response because, quite frankly, I agreed with a few of them. Big dealio. Everybody has their own tastes and likes. We can't keep condemning them for not forming the perfect staright line behind us. Dave doesn't want fans that are robots, he wants originality. Personaly, Im bored with the same old: "Whats your fav song by Dave" "Whats your fav album by Dave" threads. Jesus Christ- And to date, Fab has done nothing wrong to ME. She talked trash about Dave at the links and DDLR.com, but not here. So why would I place her in the enemy camp? So far her worst crime is not showing me her tits! :D
"FUCK YOU, YOU FUCKIN' BITCH! WHO THE FUCK DO YOU THINK YOU ARE ANYWAYS? TALK TO ME LIKE THAT? FUCK YOU. DRAG QUEEN LOOKIN' WHORE- YOU AINT SHIT. YOUR THE FRECKLE TO THE LEFT OF MY BROWN EYE. NOW GO MAKE YOURSELF USEFUL...OH, PUT DAD ON THE PHONE"
