Absolutely.
No question Dave had a lot of input in arranging, considering he to sing over it. But that's not different than any other band.
How many bands have we all been in where someone will say, "Let's use that part as the chorus" or "Let's use that as the verse, it's easier to sing over" or something along those lines.
