    Well...signing fucking IRod was the snafu of all snafu's for that pitching staff...

    I could see Detroit and Cleveland being one of those teams that pester the shit out of the Yanks and Sox the next couple of years...no doubt about it...

        Tigers have been playing to their opposition's level all season long.

        Beat the good teams, get owned by the lesser teams.

        Pudge has been huge, to say the least, and signing Guillen to the extension for less than he would get on the free agent market is a direct result of that I think.

                it's out of John Hart's book...when they signed the entire bulk of the Tribe's stars to multi-year deals before the hit the big time...or while they were doing it...

                they took a coupla hits...but kept guys there...longer than they should have...

                    I have Posada to catch, was just after Piazza because he can play first also, like you have him.

                    Could off up one of these pitchers: Trachsel, Lawrence, or Myers too if you want, that would give you 2 starters, and would make it a 4 for 2, but that's the best I could go.

                        Doing it the right way though through the minors, can't beat that.

                        Their pitching holds up, they will be a bitch to play late in the season.

                        Tigers need desperately some young pitchers in the minors to start paying off. Hoping Dombrowski can get it done.

                            Yeah...the nice thing about the tribe is that their top four or five minor league players are pitchers...and have some good position players as well...such as Sizemore, peralta and Phillips...

                            they'll be a solid for years to come...until the big boys hit them...
