Smackdown tapings are hours away but I have an "inside" scoop that Trish Stratus, the current WWE Womens Champ is the next draft pick.

Its funny how Teddy Long isn't picking up Batista yet? Give it time.

I think the WWE wants to end the HHH-Batista feud at the Hell in a Cell match, and then have Dave be drafted to Smackdown.

Afterall, you can't have two major championships on one show.

I got the greatest wrestling stars of the 80's dvd & it kicks ass. It is 3 discs, each one has a documentary on 5 people (about 10 min each) and a match from each one (Heenan, JYD, Slaughter. VAlentine, Piper, Lawler, AA, Dusty, Flair Steamboat, Snuka, Orton, Sheik, Orndorff & Hogan). I saw a previous post about this DVD & the match selection. Please note that the matches that were rumored to be on the disc aren't. There is much less repetition of matches than was previously announced (only 1 of 16).

          Matches are:
Piper vs Valentine dog collar match (Starrcade 83) - Great classic match
Slaughter vs Iron Sheik - this is the match that leads to the bootcamp match
Santana vs Valentine lumberjack match - there were better matches in this series
JYD vs Savage from the wrestling classic - doesn't stand the test of time but great to see Savage from 85
Warrior vs Heenan in a weasel suit match - funny stuff
Ole & Arn Anderson vs Wahoo McDaniel & Billy Jack HAynes - weird choice of match, maybe saving his good 80's mactches for reported 4 Horseman DVD
Rhodes vs Flair $1 million (Starrcade 84) - they don't mention the polka dot era for DUsty
Lawler vs Kerry Von Erich (Superclash 3 Unification bout) - if you're wondering about Kerry's arm, before the match he scratched it not realizing he had a blade on his finger
Steamboat vs Flair (Chi-town rumble) - Finally the greatest trilogy of matches are on DVD
Ric Flair vs Jay Youngblood - The first wrestler of the era to die way before his time. He was a tag champ with Steamboat.
Snuka vs BAcklund cage match - first time in its entirety on DVD. This was first time Snuka made leap from the cage.
Iron Sheik vs Bob BAcklund - The Shiek's finest moment
Orndorff vs Sal Bellamo - Orndorff's 1st MSG match, the night Hulk won the title. Very strange choice of match
Iron Sheik vs Hulk Hogan - the first match that is available on another DVD, Hulkamania is born
Bob Orton vs Snuka - The match that put Orton in the cast
Piper vs Hogan (War to Settle the Score) - Garden crown was never hotter, this is the match that led to Wrestlemania.

It is a great DVD & well worth getting. As a bonus you get to see JYD perform Grab Them Cakes at the Slammy's (G-R-A-B-T-H-E-M-C-A-K-E-S Yowww!)

The Road Warriors DVD - Make sure you see the matches before the documentary as they show the endings to several of the matches on the disc.

The documentary is very good with a little bit of revisionist history but thankfully no mention of Rocco. The other big no mentions are Powers of Pain, Varsity Club & turn on Sting. You will not hear Iron Man on the disc & when done browing the DVD selections you will have "Oh, What a Rush" stuck in your head for days.

            Match listing:
Road Warriors vs Joe Young & Randy Barber
Road Warriors vs Arn Anderson & Paul Jones
NWA Tag Title Texas Tornado Match: The Brisco Brothers vs The Road Warriors
The Road Warriors vs Mike Jackson & Stone
AWA Tag Title: Baron Von Rasche & The Crusher vs The Road Warriors
AWA Tag Title: Road Warriors vs Larry Henning & Curt Henning
AWA Tag Title: Road Warriors vs Freebirds (SuperClash 85)
Road Warriors vs Magnum TA & Ronnie Garvin (Crocket Cup 86)
Russian Chain Match: Road Warriors vs Ivan Koloff & Nikita Koloff (GAB 86)
Scaffold Match: Road Warriors vs Midnight Express (Starrcade 86)
NWA Tag Title: Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard vs Road Warriors (Starrcade 87)
NWA Tag Title: Midnight Express vs Road Warriors
            Road Warriors vs Demolition
Road Warriors vs Hart Foundation (Wrestlefest 91)
Road Warriors vs Hulk Hogan & Genichiro Tenyru
WWF Tag Title: Nasty Boys vs Road Warriors (Summer Slam 91)
Road Warriors vs Money Inc. (Summer Slam 92)
WCW Tag Title: Sting & Lex Luger vs Road Warriors (Super Brawl 96)
WWF Tag Title: The Godwinns vs The Road Warriors

Can't complain too much about match selection. The only great match missing is vs Steiners (Starrcade). Good combo of AWA, NWA, & WWE matches; and matches against the Hart Foundation & Hogan that I never knew existed.

I have some on VHS, but I was hoping for the WWE cleaned up version.
WWE doesn't own the footage for that federation. The Candaian fed (I think it was called International Championship Wrestling) produced some VHS tapes in the 80's and I wish they would make them into DVD's.

The bench press incident was with the Powers of Pain (Warlord & Barbarian). They had a bench press contest & wound up smashing Animal's head into the bar. I laughed at how the bar kept rolling, Crockett was very lucky they were able to stop it from rolling into the crowd. The re-match was the barbed wire 6 man match on the first Clash of Champions. Shortly after the match they left NWA for WWF to fight the Road Warrior rip-offs known as Demolition

I'd like to see Triple H get drafted to Smackdown even though I know its not going to happen.

Bring it on. I'm like the Schwab from the ESPN show when it comes to wrestling.

Full Bug hasn't posted a quiz since I was 10 for 10 in about 5 minutes from when it was posted.

By the way, I tried to get an image capture from the bench press contest but couldn't figure out how. I had a picture in bmp format that was way too large to post & when I compressed it or tried to convert it to a jpg file the picture went black.

actually WWE DOES own the footage. The co. was called International Grand Prix Championship Wrestling. It based itself out of Montreal using the forum as its big gate. They travelled through most of Northern Ontario and Southern Ontario. The co. folded in 1987 after Gino Brito Sr. sold its rights to one Vince McMahon. Bravo, Zenk, Martel, Rocky Dellesara, Jos Leduc, Haku, Frenchy Martin and of course a few Rougeau Bros were already picked up. By that point Brito Sr and the AWA were trying to work out a inter-brand deal which also fell through.

International Wrestling was its shortened name.
