Originally posted by Terry It would definitely be a reunion show worth going to, even if new material weren't forthcoming.
The Police would make serious bank all over the world.
My only concern would be Copeland's age. I mean, that guy was a fuckin' MONSTER drummer with the Police, but that was almost a quarter century ago...he may need some serious doses of Viagra to get it up to speed...the last thing I heard of him doing, drum-wise, was getting ready to tour with the Doors 21st century, but then he broke his leg or some shit...
Has anyone heard him play recently?
Please dont post anything concerning drumming you dolt.Dont even go with the buddy rich reference..How old do you think Stewart is by the way..?Neil Peart is how old?.Skills diminish somewhat ..im sure Stewart could handle a plice reunion..can Andy summers?god knows the doors are known for its paradiddles and triplets and straight ahead percusion.John densmore ?.im better.

I'm calling "bullshit" on this one.
Sting and Copeland hate one another.
I would LOVE a Police reunion. They were amazing.
But I'm not holding out any hope.
I agree. There's nothing on the internet about a reunion, and Copeland said in an interview as late as September that there were no plans to reunite though he'd like to do it and remains a possibility, though unlikely.
And Copeland and Sting don't really hate each other, they speak and are on good terms. The all had dinner together at the Sundance Film festival after Sting found out that Summers and Copeland were in attendance.
Interesting, but it doesn't sound much like The Police. I'd say it's more in Peter Gabriel territory.
Looks like Sting and Stewart only play on the one song. Glen Matlock of the Sex Pistols plays on a couple of tracks, and Steve Hunter on guitar for a couple, but the majority of the instruments are played by Padovani himself. Who would have thought he was that good from listening to "Fallout" back in 1977??

The Police were the right band at the right time. I had a good time in the 80's and it deffinately was a unique decade. I just don't want to go back to it. Time to move on to Global Warming, the BCE and the general fucking of the world. LOL! Let's see, when does that Aztec calendar run out?

December 23, 2012. I don't think I'll worry about Xmas shopping that year.

Always have.
It'd be great if they reunited for a tour.
But Sting and Copeland hate each other's guts and don't get along, even worse than Ed and Dave.
Even back in the day, if they weren't performing, they'd be fighting.
I'd be surprised if they can play past a few shows.
As posted above, Sting & Stewart did work together on Padovani's record. Yeah, it was just one song, but it's a start.
Over at Links someone said that CNN briefly posted an item about a new Police box set being released, consisting of remixes, unreleased stuff and live material, but the labels got pissy and pulled the news or something.....
Right now the Police reunion is looking more credible than Van HALEN.
I think it would make one Hell of a double bill, honestly. And unlike a certain tour in 2002, I really wouldn't mind who opened or closed the show, provided both bands played a full set.

Before you start calling someone out, check all the facts - GearBox.
Sit Down Waldo!!
There have been Police reunion rumors as long as there have been VH rumors, and the Police at least manage to get together every 5 years or so, at least long enough to play 15 or 20 minutes. But they have never gone beyond that point. Why is that? Because of the strained relationship between band members.
So in other words, that WAS the facts available. There's still no confirmation of a tour, though you can bet the pressure is on them to do so, IF a box set is in the works.
So sit down, take your Ritalin, and shut your ass up!
