I didn't like ACAS much to begin with, but it actually grew on me eventually. I think the production really lets it down. It's as if it doesn't know how it wants to sound. But, yes, I am one of those people who is getting a MASSIVE boner for "Welcome 2 My Nightmare", mainly based on the first single, which is EVERYTHING I wanted it to be and have played it pretty much non-stop all week.

Although, the week it came out, someone actually did get their face bitten off outside a club called Funky Box in Liverpool, so it put a bit of a downer on the whole face-biting experience. Also really looking forward to the new Tom Waits.

Before that, it was Frank Turner's "England Keep My Bones" that got me excited...

    Vintage Trouble's "Bomb Shelter Sessions"...

And the last new artist I went crazy for was Janelle Monae.

Interested to hear the Lou Reed/Metallica album too...but that's more interest than excitement.

(Also, I agree with Binnie's assesment on Foo's "Wasting Light"...it is in fact the only Foos I can listen to right through without skipping...and that even includes CATS)

Local shop had the new Alice fanpack about a week early. Couldn't help myself. It's probably the best album he's made in my lifetime.

Goes to show, Bob Ezrin really does bring the best out of him.

I have to agree with Hardrock69 on Rammstein. My other favorite band other than Van Halen. Did you get a chance to see them when they toured North America this year? I did and no shit, my eyebrows go burned (I was front row). They are the best metal show on the planet. Period. If youve never heard them check them out!

When I go to Walmart tomorrow to pick up the new Alice Cooper cd, I'll be very stoked to grab the new Anthrax album that's coming out. First one with Belladonna on vocals in some time.

The new Anthrax record is fucking brilliant. I cannot believe how much fire they have.

WTF??? I go to the store today and neither album is there. This better not be another case of an album being released a week later in Canada. It's happened before with Alice's albums.

the last NEW album I got that I really really really loved was Judas Priest - Angel Of Retribution. Halford being back & listening to him in the very first song belt out an extremely wicked "JUDAS IS RISING" gave me goosebumps. Still kinda does today. Sad they are hanging it up. I understand, but I think those guys still have a lot of good juice left in them. They sure treat their fans better than many other bands we know & love.

'Angel of Retribution'? Really? I remember wanting to be excited about that record and feeling underwhelmed - BIG TIME.

Halford's first solo record - 'Resurrection' - was much better, IMO.

That's the problem with getting music from stores that sell virtually everything: No one department is properly overseen. This could be a matter of the employee in charge of the music section (among many other sections) at that particular Walmart simply not opening up the shipment box with the week's Tuesday new releases inside. This is often the case if you happen to get to the store soon after it opens. It's likely the albums will be placed in the bins later in the afternoon or evening if you take the effort to call the store and make the request.

I'm really struggling here trying to think when I last bought music physically from a store rather than off the internet be it a CD or mp3.

Must be at least 5 years maybe longer.

Honestly there are only 3 songs I really like on it. But having Halford back in Priest (where he belongs) and kicking my ass with 3 excellent tunes was more than enough for me. I'd fucking kill for 3 new Van Halen tunes. It would be like if Steve Perry got back with Journey. I was just more excited Rob was back and I was holding the evidence in my hands.

I actually went twice. Just after 10am and then at noon. At noon they had more stuff out in new releases, but not Alice or Anthrax. When I asked, she looked dumbfounded. Problem is it's the only place around me that sells cds. I'll have to make the hour trip to Ottawa.
