If someone from outside my party...who I didn't vote for...stepped out of an election...and starting doing things that actually helped the country...and more importantly...helped the country for my family...and my kids' future...I'd support him/her in a country second.

I think there were things that Clinton did...that garnered support from both aisles at one point or another...quite frankly...because they were the right ideas...I heard Gingrich say as much a couple of weeks ago that in the height of his hatred for Clinton...there were times when he found himself fighting a plan that he ultimately thought would work...

Bush after 9/11...had the public in much the same way...and really could have exacted some change...but just didn't have the smarts or savvy...IMO...to carry that fantastic handling of the immediacy of 9/11 (now...ultimately...I think the handling morphed into something else...but how could it not).

My point? Our past 2 presidents are supremely flawed for many...many different reasons...

So I ask...how the fuck does the general public keep supporting these fucking flawed fucks?

It's not like we didn't know Clinton was a fucking immoral, lying jackass before 1992...and it's not like we didn't know that Bush was a fucking mindnumbing moron before 2000. But here we are...100 million strong...throwing these two to our fucking top position.

That says more about us as a country...than anything you want.

I'm in medical administration - physician resource planning, so I DO know what I'm talking about.

Canada is just an example, and from the people i associate with in Quebec, they pretty much formed my point of view. that is where i got my impression of the system in the first place.

More importantly, your system is the model i believe Hillary wishes to use, but it won't work here, it's a totally different set of circumstances.

We also have a shortage of Doctors, and nurses as well, and believe me, there will be a beurocrat making the decisions, not the doctors.

What is the reason for going universal?

Your wording is WRONG. It's not when they want something taken care of properly, it's if they want it done in a timely manner. Our wait times are FUCKING ridiculous, but we do receive top notch medical care, just not in a timely manner.

I have no other choice but to love my health care system. As I have already had 3 pacemaker surgeries, plus receive ECG's every 6 months, and will probably require at least 4 more pacemaker surgeries before I die. If I was in your country, I would be dead already because I wouldn't have been able to pay for my initial surgery, or I would be bankrupt and paying the rest of my life.

Do your 'friends' work in the health care system up here? Or are they ill-informed and don't fully understand the problems like most Canadians? The only people up here who have a real understanding of the problems are those who actually work in the field, especially the administrative end.

FYI - A HUGE reason for our physician shortage is all of our doctors that went to the States in the '80's/90's when your hospitals were recruiting heavily and offering HUGE $$ in the process for our top medical students. Also, your requirements on foreign trained doctor are not nearly as high as ours. The government keeps asking us to lower our standards to match that of the USA, but we say NO BLOODY WAY will we sic one foreign trained doctor on the public until we ARE ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN they meet Canadian training standards.

So, congratulations, if your doctor is Canadian, you've got one of the best... If your doctor is foreign trained... you may want to double-check their training...

I've never once met a doctor who was from Canada.
Indian? yes
Muslim? Yes
Canadian? Not a single one, and I live in Cincinnati which was one of the best places a Med Student could go to get educated in the 80's and 90's.
The fact that those same doctors became victims of frivilous law suits changed all that. It's tough to find a good doctor in this state now, except for cardiologists so i fail to see any valididty to your claim.

My daughter and I have great insurance, my wife is on medicare and medicaide because I can't cover her on my policy due to our financial situation when she was diagnosed, so babe, I know how the entire system works, and how it will work under Universal applications.

Bring your ass down here to Cincinnati University Hospital and get your care if that is the case. like i said, the cardiology department is second to none in the entire world. and if you can't pay the bill, Hamilton County will pay it for you through a program called Care Source.
If nothing else, or if you don't qualify for full coverage you can send them $25 a month for the rest of your life and never have to think Bankruptcy.
And if you need additional care in the future none of that gets held against you, just keep sending that $25 a month.

Laws that don't protect doctors or drug companies are the reason costs keep rising. people just don't seem to understand this.

When that happens, then you have to "apply" for every treatment you get, and like i said before, people die while waiting for that approval.

When my wife "needs" a procedure done we have to wait for approval...now tell me who's getting the better more expedient care here....It's me of course.
