That is a senseless comparison. We are not at war and it was 65 years ago that British intelligence won the Western Front.

Why is the focus on Wikkileaks and not the astonishing incompetence of the US government in losing all of this information?

Of course this is the same people that have supposedly kept UFO's, the Kennedy assassination and the fake moon landings secret for decades...

My question to Brie is this....

If you're so right in your conviction, and such a patriot....

What is keeping you from acting on this yourself? The guts?

Why are you waiting for someone braver, smarter, and more patriotic than you to do your dirty work?

            My 2 cents:

Some of the stuff should not be released if it endangers sources or methods.

But obviously there is too much stuff the US Gummint wishes were kept under wraps that We The People SHOULD be made aware of.

And yes, fuck all this crap about diplomatic cables.

If WikiLeaks is going to release anything, leak classified info about UFOs and other stuff we should know about.

I recall something said (I think by Clinton) about how there is stuff still classified that dates back to the Civil War. Why the fuck? I can see stuff staying classified from say, the last 50 years or so.

But they need to declassify a LOT of historical stuff, certainly pre-dating WWI, as all the individuals concerned are DEAD.

What was your secret clearance? Your mother not telling the neighbors you played with your G.I. Joe at 35 and had a homoerotic affliction for a doll?

If they were smart they wouldn't have made such a big fuss about the leak. Just act like you don't give a shit and dismiss anything in it. By making all the fuss, it brings more attention to it and because the government is so concerned, it's obvious the stuff is juicy. They should have just said Wikiwho? and oh that, I guess you can say anything on the internet.

I mean it's just a website and who knows if anything on it is true unless of course you can verify the sources yourself.

It's funny, but I turned on a car today (not mine) and Rush Limbaugh was on the radio, and before I could change it to a decent station, he drew me in by talking about the Wikileaks. Basically, Rush started in with the predictable bullshit (tongue in cheek actually) about how the Wikileaks' guy should be executed, but not for what he's doing, but because he looks like a pasty dweeb. He went onto say that he finds the Leaks fascinating and far more interesting that anything in the mainstream media. Maybe one of the only things I've ever agreed with him on.

Incidentally, I've seen this sort of info before as in my "military training," I had Top Secret SCI clearance --and you know what-- most classified message traffic is rather dull and mundane, and isn't much more than like reading a newspaper article with more technical details and elaboration. From what little (admittedly) I've seen, most of the documents aren't particularly sensitive nor enlightening. However, it is fascinating. Take a look at the following link and it portrays the Chinese as not really particularly taking their "allies" in North Korea seriously, and implies that they even share intelligence on them with U.S. diplomats...

You have to admit the world isn't boring. It's insane. Who would have ever thought we would have a president with the crazy name Barrack Obama. North Korea shelling South Korea. Drones bombing Afghanistan, some Kid trying to blow up a Christmas tree lighting celebration, and Vince Neil figure skating. It's all got to be a sign.
