I was also thinking that. Now they know how to get their way next time. It's like with children.

This will probably turn some heads and i'm probably putting my foot in my mouth, but ol' Junior's got some opinions too... I heard about this on the news this morning and we had a discussion about it in my Am. Govt class today. I truly feel sorry for the family of the ambassador and the people affected by his death. It's really sad, what's happening to Syria. It's imploding upon itself and so many innocent lives are unnecessarily being taken every week. I wish we could somehow help them, but we can't be the police force of the world all the time; people are gonna call us the bad guys if we go in all gung ho, it'll likely just turn into another Black Hawk Down scenario. Catch 22 all across the board in my opinion. If Syria keeps up this brand of self-inflicted destruction, there may well be no Syria or anybody living there in 5-7 years. In all honesty the middle east is a recurring cycle of violence, jealousy, greed, and power struggles, most of which relating to religion and resources that all get too far out of hand. The inhabitants of these countries have been fighting for thousands of years and, probably will be fighting with eachother for the next thousand years. First it was Gadhaffi, then Egypt turned into a mosh pit, and now for a while Syria's been fucking itself in the ass. Are these people really so stupid that they don't see they're going to literally extinguish themselves? I think they should just kill themselves off, and maybe the rest of the middle east (or even the world, go figure!) could learn from their mistakes. And the fact that he was killed on 9/11 is one hell of a coincidence, I heard and read that some groups are claiming that it wasn't just an accident, it was planned out that he would die yesterday... bunch of sick fucks, although the realm of cultural relativism doesn't acknowledge them as different!
Reading Crazy From the Heat in four hours flat, in a cramped RV, on the return trip of a 3,000+ mile family outing to New Jersey is an enlightening experience you'll never forget.

This whole fucked up situation is about to get uglier (as if 4 murders wasn't ugly enough).........

Muhammad-Film Consultant: 'Sam Bacile' Is Not Israeli, and Not a Real Name
                    By Jeffrey Goldberg

Revelations about the alleged producer of the now-infamous trailer for "The Innocence of Muslims."

As part of my search for more information about Sam Bacile, the alleged producer of the now-infamous anti-Muhammad film trailer "The Innocence of Muslims," I just called a man named Steve Klein -- a self-described militant Christian activist in Riverside, California (whose actual business, he said, is in selling "hard-to-place home insurance"), who has been described in multiple media accounts as a consultant to the film.

Klein told me that Bacile, the producer of the film, is not Israeli, and most likely not Jewish, as has been reported, and that the name is, in fact, a pseudonym. He said he did not know "Bacile"'s real name. He said Bacile contacted him because he leads anti-Islam protests outside of mosques and schools, and because, he said, he is a Vietnam veteran and an expert on uncovering al Qaeda cells in California. "After 9/11 I went out to look for terror cells in California and found them, piece of cake. Sam found out about me. The Middle East Christian and Jewish communities trust me."

He said the man who identified himself as Bacile asked him to help make the anti-Muhammad film. When I asked him to describe Bacile, he said: "I don't know that much about him. I met him, I spoke to him for an hour. He's not Israeli, no. I can tell you this for sure, the State of Israel is not involved, Terry Jones (the radical Christian Quran-burning pastor) is not involved. His name is a pseudonym. All these Middle Eastern folks I work with have pseudonyms. I doubt he's Jewish. I would suspect this is a disinformation campaign."

I asked him who he thought Sam Bacile was. He said that there are about 15 people associated with the making of the film, "Nobody is anything but an active American citizen. They're from Syria, Turkey, Pakistan, they're some that are from Egypt. Some are Copts but the vast majority are Evangelical."

What are we to make of Steve Klein's assertions? I'm taking everything about this strange and horrible episod with a grain of salt, though I will say that I haven't seen any proof yet that Sam Bacile is an actual Israeli Jew, or that the name is anything other than a pseudonym. More to come, undoubtedly.

So at the very least, we have right wing fundagelical fuckiheads using fake names to make propaganda films.

And I'm betting it goes WAY beyond that. If anybody even makes an attempt to link this to Iran in anyway, you can bet your ass that NuttyYahoo and/or Mossad is involved. And that was made obvious by the way Mittens couldn't wait to make a fucking ass out of himself, blaming Obama for it. There's no doubt whatsoever who the Likud Zionfascists are backing in this election, as evidenced by the unlimited millions shoveled by their buddy Sheldon Adelson (who also launders money for the Chinese mob)

‘It Makes Me Sick’: Actress in Muhammed Movie Says She Was Deceived, Had No Idea It Was About Islam
                        Adrian Chen

The story of the Muhammed movie which sparked deadly protests in Libya and Egypt gets weirder. The actors who appeared in it had no idea they were starring in anti-Islam propaganda which depicts Muhammed as a child molester and thug. They were deceived by the film's director, believing they were appearing in a film about the life of a generic Egyptian 2,000 years ago.

Cindy Lee Garcia, an actress from Bakersfield, Calif., has a small role in the Muhammed movie as a woman whose young daughter is given to Muhammed to marry. But in a phone interview this afternoon, Garcia told us she had no idea she was participating in an offensive spoof on the life of Muhammed when she answered a casting call through an agency last summer and got the part.

The script she was given was titled simply Desert Warriors.

"It was going to be a film based on how things were 2,000 years ago," Garcia said. "It wasn't based on anything to do with religion, it was just on how things were run in Egypt. There wasn't anything about Muhammed or Muslims or anything."

In the script and during the shooting, nothing indicated the controversial nature of the final product, now called Muslim Innocence. Muhammed wasn't even called Muhammed; he was "Master George," Garcia said. The words Muhammed were dubbed over in post-production, as were essentially all other offensive references to Islam and Muhammed.

For example, at 9:03 in the trailer, Garcia berates her husband, who wants to send their daughter to Muhammed: "Is your Muhammed a child molester?" she says in the final product. But the words are dubbed over what she actually said. The line in the script—and the line Garcia gave during filming—was, "is your God a child molester," Garcia told us today.

Garcia was horrified when she saw the end product, and when protesters in Libya killed four U.S. Embassy employee.

"I had nothing to do really with anything. Now we have people dead because of a movie I was in. It makes me sick."

According to Garica, her three days on set last July were unremarkable. The film's mysterious pseudonymous writer and director, "Sam Bacile," has claimed to be an Israeli real estate mogul. But Garcia said Bacile told her he was Egyptian on set. Bacile had white hair and spoke Arabic to a number of "dark-skinned" men who hung around the set, she said. (A Bacile associate also told The Atlantic he wasn't Israeli or Jewish.)

"He was just really mellow. He was just sitting there and he wanted certain points to be made."

Once, Garcia said, Bacile wanted a girl that "Master George" (aka Muhammed) was to sleep with to look seven years old, instead of 10, to heighten the outrage. But his Assistant Directors protested, saying that was too young.

After the protests erupted and Bacile appeared in the media, Garcia called him up today to express her outrage at his deception.

"I called Sam and said, 'Why did you do this?' and he said, 'I'm tired of radical Islamists killing each other. Let other actors know it's not their fault.'"

Garcia isn't satisfied simply knowing it wasn't her fault.

"I'm going to sue his butt off."

Update: The entire 80-member cast and crew of the film have released a statement saying they were misled. Via CNN:

The entire cast and crew are extremely upset and feel taken advantage of by the producer. We are 100% not behind this film and were grossly misled about its intent and purpose. We are shocked by the drastic re-writes of the script and lies that were told to all involved. We are deeply saddened by the tragedies that have occurred.
Update II: Here's what appears to be the original casting call, posted in July 2011on craigslist:

For the record, as I said, I watched that 14 minute trailer on YouTube, and even in the trailer, there were parts where the dialogue was OBVIOUSLY overdubbed, so I have no reason to doubt the word of this actress above.

Somebody went out of their way to stir up shit, and goddamn it, they better be found and charged with murder.

I'm sorry but that is all irrelevant.

So the guy is probably an asshole that's not the point.

It's very very easy to support freedom of speech when it's someone you agree with.

When people are murdered in the name of ridiculous dogma you don't start by reinforcing their evil bullshit by attacking the guy that offended them. You can't give offence you can only take it.

If I say on here the Koran is ridiculous and as full of holes and mistakes as the bible and then a twat goes and kills someone else because he has been offended is that my fault? Should I be punished?

The neocon shitbags will either try to turn this into Obama's version of the Jimmy Carter failed helicopter rescue, or they'll drop the pretense entirely, manufacture a false tie to Iran and demand that NuttyYahoo get his fucking war, which WILL become World War III without even bothering to wait for the election to be stolen.

                                J. Christopher Stevens, U.S. ambassador to Libya, dies at 52
By Anne Gearan, Wednesday, September 12, 5:08 AM

                                J. Christopher Stevens, the American ambassador killed Tuesday in an attack in Benghazi, Libya, hitched a ride into that country last year by sea — the only way in with a civil war in progress.

“There weren’t any flights, so we came in by a Greek cargo ship,” Mr. Stevens told reporters not long afterward, recalling his arrival in Benghazi as the top U.S. envoy to Libya’s rebel movement.

When he and his American colleagues reached the rebel-held city, they were greeted by a group of Libyans carrying U.S., British, French and Qatari flags in the courthouse square. Mr. Stevens said he and the other Americans found that they had no place to sleep, so they bunked that first night back on the ship.

The improbable journey was fitting for Mr. Stevens, a former Peace Corps volunteer who was fluent in Arabic and who had traveled throughout the Middle East. An easygoing but determined career diplomat, he had made the region the focus of his two-decade career.

Describing the episode during a visit to Washington, he played down the dangers inherent in opening a U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi. Instead, he focused on explaining his mission there: to support a democratic transition in Libya, which had been ruled by Moammar Gaddafi for four decades.

“It’s especially tragic that Chris Stevens died in Benghazi because it is a city that he helped to save,” President Obama, standing alongside Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, said in a brief tribute Wednesday at the White House. “He worked tirelessly to support this young democracy.”

The attack on the U.S. Consulate building also killed diplomat Sean Smith, 34, an Air Force veteran who had served in various U.S. missions over the past decade, as well as two other diplomats whose identities have not been released, pending notification of their families. Mr. Stevens, 52, was the first sitting U.S. ambassador to be killed in a violent attack since 1979.

Officials said the ambassador, who was stationed at the embassy in Tripoli, was visiting the consulate at the time of the attack. The apparent cause of his death was smoke inhalation, according to several U.S. officials briefed on the attack, although the State Department has not confirmed that.

                                ‘Courage and talent’

Funny and charming, with a broad smile and wide curiosity, Mr. Stevens made friends easily and kept them, colleagues said. He was well-known for haggling at the shops of the Old City in Jerusalem and lingering over coffee in the walled Old City in Tripoli.

“We were on opposite sides in a way,” said Ghaith al-Omari, a former top adviser to the Palestinian Authority who first dealt with Mr. Stevens during peace negotiations.

“During a meeting, he was very proper and professional. Having a coffee after the meeting, he was very friendly” and asked a lot of questions, Omari said. “You ended up with a diplomat who had texture.”

Deputy Secretary of State William J. Burns said Wednesday that he had followed Mr. Stevens’s career and believed him to be one of “the very finest officers of his generation in the Foreign Service.”

“I last saw Chris on a visit to Libya about six weeks ago, shortly after his arrival as ambassador, and I remember thinking on the plane ride home that his was the kind of courage and talent and leadership that would inspire another generation of American diplomats,” Burns said. “We will miss him deeply but long remember his example.”

Mr. Stevens had served in Israel, Egypt, Syria and Saudi Arabia, but Libya became the center of his career. He served there three times, beginning in the years before Gaddafi fell, when the mercurial leader was trying to repair decades of poor relations with Washington. Mr. Stevens was the No. 2 U.S. diplomat in Libya from 2007 to 2009.

When the Arab Spring revolts spread to Libya, Mr. Stevens became the Obama administration’s envoy to the opposition there, meeting with representatives overseas and eventually setting up the American diplomatic outpost in Benghazi. He returned to what he proudly called a “democratic Libya” as ambassador this spring.

A former State Department colleague, Wayne White, said Mr. Stevens used his disarming charm to persuade others. He recalled that Mr. Stevens would arrive in his office with a “big smile” and then give him some work.

The work might not have always been welcome, “but it was better if it came from Chris. He was just such a genuinely intelligent, high-minded guy,” White said.

As a diplomat, Mr. Stevens had a direct style that is unusual among his peers. Preparing then-Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice fora meeting with Gaddafi in 2008, he alluded to Gaddafi’s crush on Rice.

“A self-styled intellectual and philosopher, he has been eagerly anticipating for several years the opportunity to share with you his views on global affairs,” Mr. Stevens wrote in a diplomatic cable published by WikiLeaks.

Rice later recalled Gaddafi’s interest in her as “creepy.”

                                ‘He wasn’t afraid’

Mr. Stevens, who grew up near Oakland, Calif., went to the University of California at Berkeley. He never married and had no children. His brother Tom Stevens, an assistant U.S. attorney in San Francisco, said the family had worried at times about Mr. Stevens’s safety.

“He was good-natured about it. He wasn’t afraid in places other people might think were scary,” Tom Stevens said.

Speaking with a Washington Post reporter in June, Mr. Stevens acknowledged a rise in violence in Libya, especially among small Islamist groups.

“It’s a function of there being a lot of freedom and desire to express views and agendas,” he said. “When people cross the line, it’s also a function of a lack of strong state and police to enforce the law.”

Austin Tichenor, a friend from high school who became a college roommate and lifelong friend, said Mr. Stevens was passionate about a career that was worlds away from his own.

“He understood so much about the Middle East,” said Tichenor, an actor and writer. “The only small solace is that he died the same way he lived,” in the thick of things.

Mr. Stevens had worked as an international trade lawyer and a Peace Corps volunteer in Morocco before joining the State Department.

Arash Babaoff, a friend of Mr. Stevens since the 1990s, described him as an intensely committed diplomat. “It was his life,” Babaoff said. “He was just someone who really had his heart in this, and he really felt like he was making relationships and headway.”

Babaoff called the killing “a blow to idealism.”
