Especially when places like Switzerland are mentioned as red herrings solely because of the fact that they have a large number of "assault rifles" ISSUE BY THE GOV"T to the general population as most military aged men are in the Army reserve and the gov't obviously keeps close track of such weapons. Perhaps that's what was truly meant by the Second Amendment?

Plus in 2001 a Swiss guy walked into a regional parliament killed 14 and injured 14 with his weapon. Scale that up by population and if someone had done that to American politicians on 37 occasions then I'm guessing something would have been done by now.

Also I see there was a law passed which means that they don't keep the ammo at home any more...

Our entire way of life, our country, our freedoms are based around antiquated documents. They aren't poorly written, just much different verbiage was used 235 years ago. So much like the documents themselves, the language is antiquated.

Maybe we need a new MTV version of the Constitution so everyone can understand it in todays language. We could put it on cd with Kim Kardashian narrating.

Any document that condones treating women and minorities like 2nd class citizens, slavery, etc. is poorly written, sorry... if it was written 200 or 2000 years ago it at minimum needs a serious update.

The idea that the 2nd amendment doesn't need to be updated to keep pace with advances in gun technology is an idiotic, or insane, or both.
